Happy End of Term everyone, do you know that kids age under 16 are welcome to join in with their parents training for free at Zigs Exercise over their school summer break? 🙌

Every month we do a healthy challenge so Zach aged 10 here is joining in the “try a new recipe” challenge. 🙌

Zach spotted a cocktail recipe in the Waitrose mag🍹so we adapted it to be kid friendly by chopping fresh strawberries 🍓 then added sparkling water, a dash of pomegranate juice 🥤 and a squeeze of fresh orange. 🍊 Topped off with a dollop of ice cream and fresh mint 🍨

It reminded me of making cream soda in the 80’s, did you make them and what did you make them from? Quatro, Tizer and Lilt were popular brands back in the day 🍍

Getting a sweat on? 🏃🏼💧

I love exercising in the warmer weather and getting a good sweat on, how about you?

I notice some people use the hot weather as an excuse not to
and others do it anyway but seem to melt! 🥵

I guess we all have our optimum temperature and what I’ve learnt is to do it anyway despite perfect conditions but I take time to consider hydration, top up on thirst quenching fruits and electrolytes and make use of cold showers and wet flannels 🚿

In Zigs classes we feature Pilates core conditioning and yoga stretching as well as some weighted strengthening exercises and balance training

Over the month of July we’re focusing on trying new recipes 🙌🥗
especially with what to eat in the heat!

At Zigs for the last 3 years we have supported the cyclists at the Ride for Ryder charity hospice event as the sports massage crew. 💆🏻‍♂️ 🚲

This is a huge fundraising event locally and we pay the Zigs team to support these local charity events in our community 🙌

Great vibe this weekend and a huge congratulations to all the cyclists who took part and especially those who completed the bigger distance of 160km!

It was nice for us to receive so many compliments on our treatments this weekend 💗💙 Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice

EXPERIENCING ENERGY DIPS?

Have you got a plan mapped out for practicing mindful stretching and deep breathing exercises? 🧘🏼‍♀️

At Zigs we’ll be practicing this each day this week as well as focusing on core strengthening exercises 💪🏼

Building muscle mass is not just about the toned look and being strong …

Better muscles can often mean better blood sugars coupled with the right food plan 🥗🥘

So it can reduce our risk of type 2 diabetes and improve blood sugars coupled with energy dips!

A big thank you to everyone who came to our event yesterday 🙌

We welcomed lots of local business owners to Zigs to discover a little about how we support busy professionals with their wellness journey, some made smoothies and we posed the question what is the health habit that has made the biggest difference in your life… How about you? Let me know… a reminder that movement is medicine! 🍌🏃🏼‍♀️

It was an interactive meet up 💆🏻‍♂️ with some free seated massage treatments for achy tense bodies!

We also had some get involved on the Zigs smoothie bike (we are still raising money for the Emily's Gift local charity) 🥤

Join us at Zigs for Business Chelt Networking 🙌

We are inviting people to Zigs to join us on a journey through their body and consider the concept that food and movement are medicine! 🍌🏃🏼‍♀️

This will be an enlightening and interactive meet up where we will get your body talking and moving mindfully 💆🏻‍♂️

We will be encouraging people to “welcome the wobble” for those keen to have body balance assessed and you can try out “Score My Core” and more!

This is nothing like going to a soulless gym and we’ll be encouraging open conversations on the obstacles of the body for busy professionals, especially during the juggle of parenthood and into the later years.

We’ll be giving free seated massage treatments for wellness, a range of drinks and encouraging you to try out Zigs meal mapping for better healthy energy 💪🏼

You’re also invited to have fun on the Zigs smoothie bike (we’ve raised a few thousand on this for the Emily's Gift locally) 🥤
