🌿 Gardening Joy at Chargrove Lawn....

Here at Chargrove Lawn, we’re incredibly proud of our outdoor space — and even more proud of the residents who help care for it!

Our gardens are bursting with colour and life, thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of those who love spending time outdoors. From planting and watering to simply enjoying the view, it’s a space that brings calm, connection, and joy to everyone.

🎶💃 Musical Movement Magic at Chargrove Lawn!....

We were absolutely thrilled to welcome Sue from Musical Movement to Chargrove Lawn this week — and what a fantastic time we all had!

We’re not sure who enjoyed it more — our residents or our staff — but by the end of the session, everyone was rolling on the floor with laughter. The room was filled with music, movement, and so much joy!

A huge thank you to Sue for bringing such wonderful energy and fun. We’re already looking forward to the next session!

☀️ Keeping Cool at Chargrove Lawn Care Home...

With temperatures rising this week, we’re taking extra care here at Chargrove Lawn Care Home, just outside Cheltenham, to ensure our residents stay cool, hydrated, and well-supported during the heatwave.

The wellbeing of our residents is always our top priority, and our team is putting helpful measures in place to make the warm weather more comfortable and enjoyable:

💧 Hydration, Hydration, Hydration – We’re offering regular drinks, fresh fruit, ice lollies, and gentle reminders to keep sipping throughout the day.
🌳 Shady Outdoor Relaxation – Residents can still enjoy the garden in shaded areas, with plenty of breaks indoors.
👕 Cool and Comfortable Clothing – Light, breathable clothing and sun hats help beat the heat.
🪭 Cool Indoor Spaces – Fans, good ventilation, and curtains drawn during peak sunlight help maintain a comfortable environment.
🧴 Sun Protection – We’re applying sunscreen and limiting time outside during the hottest hours (11am–3pm).
💙 Ongoing Care and Monitoring – Our team is keeping a close eye on everyone’s comfort and wellbeing throughout the day.

We’re committed to keeping everyone at Chargrove Lawn safe and cared for, while still enjoying the brighter days of summer.

A Little About Us…

Chargrove Lawn is beautifully situated on the outskirts of the charming Cotswold town of Cheltenham. Just a short walk from the town centre and easily accessible via regular bus routes, it’s a convenient and welcoming place for loved ones to visit.

One of the first things you’ll notice when arriving is the stunning view of Leckhampton Hill. But beyond the picturesque surroundings and mature gardens, Chargrove Lawn offers so much more — a warm, supportive environment where comfort, care, and community come together.

🧀 Rolling Into Tradition at Chargrove Lawn!...

Here at Chargrove Lawn, we’re embracing a wonderfully quirky local tradition — the world-famous Cheese Rolling at Cooper’s Hill! 🧀⛰️

While our residents won’t be chasing wheels of cheese down steep hills, they’ll certainly be enjoying the sights, sounds, and stories that bring back fond memories of growing up in Gloucestershire.

It’s a joy to see smiles and hear the laughter as we celebrate this strange but truly special part of our local heritage together. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest memories.

🌾 A Day at Chargrove Lawn Care Home with "Good Day Farm" 🦢🐥

What a fantastic day we've had in the home recently! Our residents were absolutely in their element when the wonderful team from Good Day Farm visited us with their delightful animals. 🐑

There were lambs on laps, geese gently waddling around, and ducklings darting past our residents, bringing so many smiles and moments of pure joy. This is what Chargrove is all about—creating memorable experiences that bring happiness and connection to our residents. 🌸

A huge thank you to Good Day Farm for bringing the farm to our doorstep and creating a fun, interactive day that we will all cherish. 🐾✨

🐾 A Purr-fect Day Out for One Lucky Resident!

Last week, one of our lovely residents from Chargrove Lawn Care Home took a paws from the usual routine and paid a visit to the feline-tastic Cat Café in Bourton-on-the-Water! 🐾

Surrounded by whiskers, warm drinks, and plenty of cuddles, it was a day full of purr-sonal joy and meow-gical moments. 😻 We’re sure they came home feeling paws-itively relaxed and full of cat-isfaction! 🐈‍⬛☕

🚗 A Day to Remember for Pam and Lisa at Chargrove Lawn Care Home ☀️

Last week, our Senior Support Worker Lisa and resident Pam set off on a special day trip in the comfort of our home’s own car — and what a memorable outing it turned out to be!

Pam was transported in more ways than one, as the journey took her back to her childhood school, bringing back fond memories and plenty of smiles. The pair also made two cheerful pub stops along the way, adding to the fun and relaxed atmosphere of the day.

Pam returned home beaming and already looking forward to her next adventure with Lisa. A huge thank you to Pam for making it such a joyful and heartwarming day — it was a pleasure to share it with you!

☀️ Al Fresco Evenings at Chargrove Lawn...

With the recent spell of beautiful weather, we’ve introduced al fresco dining here at Chargrove Lawn Care Home — and it’s quickly become a firm favourite among our residents!

There’s something truly special about enjoying a delicious meal outdoors, surrounded by fresh air, sunshine, and good company. Our evening meals in the garden have been a great success, with lots of lovely feedback and conversations continuing long after dessert.

We’re so pleased to be making the most of these warm evenings — and creating more opportunities for our residents to relax, socialise, and enjoy the simple pleasures of summer.

👩‍🍳 Clubs @ Chargrove – Soft Launch Success! 🧁

Yesterday marked the soft launch of Clubs @ Chargrove here at Chargrove Lawn Care Home — and what a fantastic start it was with our very first Cookery Club!

The session was very well attended, with residents rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck into baking. A special highlight came from resident Peter, who shared, “I’ve never made a cake in my life — just shows you’re never too old for new skills.”

We couldn’t agree more, Peter! We’re so excited to see Clubs @ Chargrove grow and provide even more meaningful and engaging opportunities for our residents.

🌞 Enjoying the Sunshine at Chargrove Lawn....

Our residents have been making the most of the beautiful weather recently, spending time outdoors and getting stuck into some tree potting! 🌳🌼

It’s been so lovely to see everyone enjoying the fresh air, with lots of smiles from both residents and staff.
A fantastic time had by all — here’s to more sunny days and happy memories! 💛
