A little baking magic at Chargrove...

There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh bakes drifting through the home! Our residents got hands-on in the kitchen this week, carefully mixing, spooning and filling the cases before our delicious chocolate chip muffins went into the oven.

Baking is such a lovely activity for everyone – it supports independence, encourages conversation, and brings back wonderful memories… and of course, the best part is getting to enjoy the finished treats together with a well-earned cup of tea. ☕️💛

Well done to our brilliant bakers – they turned out muffin short of fabulous! 😄👏

🎉 Birthday Celebrations...

We’ve been celebrating two special birthdays recently here at Chargrove Lawn — Anthony and Michael!

Both were spoiled with their own beautifully decorated cake, along with a birthday card signed by the whole team to help make their day extra special. 🎂

✨ Craft Club Creativity at Chargrove Lawn...

Our Craft Club has been busy recently and the results are just gorgeous! From bright and colourful owl creations to beautifully decorated jars and spring-inspired designs, it’s been a wonderful way for residents to relax, get creative and enjoy time together. 🦉

It’s amazing what a little imagination (and a sprinkle of glitter!) can do — we’re so proud of everyone’s fantastic work. 💛

🐦🎨 Craft Club is feeling very pleased...

This week at Chargrove Lawn, our Craft Club has been focusing on animals as we start to notice all the little signs that spring is on its way — including the welcome return of birdsongs in our gardens. 🌿🌼

Residents had a lovely time creating these bright and cheerful owl decorations, choosing colours, adding details, and making each one unique. Activities like this are a wonderful way to support creativity, coordination, conversation, and confidence — and most importantly, it’s great fun! 💛

Spring has well and truly sprung at Chargrove Lawn, and our gardens are already filling us with that “new season” feeling 🌼💛

Over the past few weeks we’ve been getting our hands in the soil and our hearts in the moment — sowing thousands of seeds to create a beautiful wildflower garden for residents to enjoy as it blooms through the months ahead. After hearing residents share memories of the cornflowers from their childhood, we knew we had to recreate that little piece of joy here — while also doing our part for nature 🐝🦋

Our mature, spacious gardens are beginning to wake up too, with pops of colour everywhere — from cheerful daffodils lining the way to the first primroses appearing and reminding us that brighter days are on their way. And of course, we made sure we rang the first snowdrop bell of the year to bring us a little extra luck 🍀✨

We’ve also cleared out our raised beds early this year so our Gardening Club can take the lead — ready to fill the grounds with fresh blooms, colour, and plenty of proud “look what we grew!” moments.

Here’s to a season of fresh air, fond memories, and gardens that keep getting better with every week 🌿🌸💚

🥞 Happy Shrove Tuesday from Chargrove Lawn...

It’s Pancake Day and we’ll be celebrating across our Cedar Trust homes with plenty of smiles, pancake tossing (wish us luck! 😄), and the all-important debate… what’s the best topping?

Our residents will be enjoying fresh pancakes, a fun bit of flipping, and choosing their favourites — sweet, fruity, or maybe something a little different!

Topping ideas we love:
🍋 Lemon & sugar (a classic!)
🍓 Fresh berries & cream
🍫 Chocolate spread & banana
🍎 Cinnamon apples
🍯 Honey or golden syrup
🍦 Ice cream (because why not?)

Thank you to the family member who took the time to share such kind words about our warm, welcoming home, our friendly team, the activities that keep residents active and entertained, and the importance of meaningful 1-to-1 time.

We don’t do what we do for recognition — we do it because we genuinely care. Every day, our focus is on creating a safe, supportive environment where residents feel valued, listened to, and truly at home.

🎄✨ Christmas Party Fun...

Our Christmas party was bursting with laughter, smiles and plenty of festive cheer – and one moment in particular had everyone in stitches! 😄

Sooraj certainly stole the show with his oversized yellow trousers, which quickly became the highlight of a brilliantly fun game. By the end of the day, those trousers were well and truly filled with laughter, and the joy in the room was absolutely infectious. 💛

Seeing our residents laughing together, joining in and enjoying every moment is what makes days like this so special. A huge thank you to our wonderful team for creating such a joyful atmosphere and making memories that will last well beyond the festive season.
