Ostenil is a solution containing hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in all joints, however in osteoarthritic joints, it reduces in quantity and quality. This means the synovial fluid that lines the joint (like the oil in your car engine!) is not able to perform its role as well; in lubricating the joint and protecting the cartilage.
