It's always good to pause and take a few quiet breaths. Make sure you take a few minutes for yourself today.

Our 9 day Ayurveda immersion has started!
This morning the students learned how the 5 elements make up the doshas, and then experienced the elements (especially windy air!) with a mindful walking meditation in the Welsh Nant Ffrancon valley. Now learning about mono, bi and tridosha theory.

It's certainly helped me.

The Prince of Wales has said yoga could help save "precious and expensive" NHS resources because of its effectiveness as a tool for "health and healing".

Day 2 - Today we looked at how to activate ourselves, how the quads try to do the work of the psoas, improving foot flexion, the adductors, tennis elbow and increasing shoulder range. I'm looking forward to incorporating the new techniques in the work I do with clients, giving them the tools to manage their health and wellbeing.

16/02/2019

Today was day 1 of Be Activated with Douglas Heel. We learnt that hip flexion is central to our movement and the many ways the body finds to create hip flexion without the psoas and glute muscles working properly. We looked at different cheat patterns and how to help the client undo these unhelpful patterns. It was inspiring to see the change in the students Douglas used as demonstrators. If you're interested in lending me your body to explore these techniques further, please contact me, you may find it life changing!
