We all know that overthinking can be overwhelming and exhausting.

The first step is recognising these unhelpful thought patterns and then exploring why we keep going around in mental circles.

One of the key skills we’ll explore is how to simply stop thinking for a few minutes.

This skill, taught and practised by meditators for thousands of years, enables us to stop these insistent and unhelpful thoughts.

What is the mind?
New weekly course at Akanishta Kadampa Buddhist Centre

Buddhist meditation goes beyond calming the mind — it helps us understand the mind itself. When we learn to recognise our thoughts and mental habits, we can start to let go of worry, stress and self-doubt, and begin to develop clarity, resilience and inner peace.

This new series explores the nature and function of the mind, based on the teachings of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
No experience needed — everyone is welcome.

🗓️ Mondays 6.30-8pm
🗓️ Tuesdays 10.30–11.45am
