I help women gain relief from their symptoms in any stage of menopause. This is done naturally with the wisdom of chinese medicine and easy to follow solutions
I was relieved when I found out I was heavily perimenopausal at 45 as it meant I wasn't depressed or going bonkers. I set about understanding the symptoms and what the root causes were and now I help women have a successful natural menopause. Through understanding how your body is changing, taking supportive supplements (like vitamins and minerals!) , eating changes to relieve symptoms, lifestyle support, and finding the right kind of exercise I can help you flourish again! So many women don't know why they've fallen off the edge, and there is very little out there that is straight forward common sense approach to resolving symptoms. Once you know what's wrong and how to put it right, you can start feeling better again in a matter of weeks. I have spent the last 4 or more years dedicated to helping women resolve their symptoms naturally and quickly, and I have a number of ways I can help you:
Check out my website for my book 'Understanding Your Menopause' you can get started today and have a better sleep tonight! For more indepth understanding I have '28 Days to a Happier and Healthier Menopause', an easy to watch video series, that dives deeper into supporting you to make your changes quickly and permanently. I also offer 1 to 1 consults, if you've still got complex symptoms to resolve we will come up with an action plan for you to make these changes that are bespoke to your symptoms. The menopausal is a time of hormonal upheaval and this puts a stress on your body like never before. This stress highlights any underlying health imbalances that before now you were 'just getting away with'! Resolve this health imbalances and the menopausal symptoms dissappear - why? Because the symptoms linked to the menopause are mainly underlying health imbalances, exacerbated by the hormonal disruption. In sorting these out, and calming hormonal responses you'll start to feel like your old self again! I'm here to help you in any way you need, for full information on how I can help you head to www.cotswoldmenopause.co.uk
I'm Andrea, I'm Menopausal, and I'm Happier and Healthier than I've been in years, it's completely natural to have a menopause with minimal or no symptoms, and it's completely ok to have a natural menopause :)

🌿 Why nervous system hygiene matters for your menopause
We don't brush our teeth daily because anything is wrong we do it because maintenance prevents crisis.
Your dental hygiene habit prevents cavities and gum disease but did you know that your nervous system benefits from a regular routine too?
Real nervous system change doesn’t come from intensity, it comes from consistency.
Menopause symptoms such as anxiety overwhelm brain fog through to hot flushes have one element in common - your nervous system.
I offer practical guidance on how to hold this up robustly with diet and supplements. This will get you bacj on top of things but staying there is key - and this is where small regular lifestyle measures can help your nervous system.
Hot flushes in particular are a culmination of a pyramid of body health issues that have built over time and then one day - *bang* you realise you're struggling with flushing or debilitating exhausting symptoms.
🌿 What is nervous system hygiene?
Tiny cues, repeated daily, slowly reshape the baseline your nervous system returns to.This may include:
Regular gentle movement
Honest boundaries
Saying no to create more self-time
Time outs between tasks
Meditative activities (like hobbies)
Nothing too dramatic in one go but over time they alter yous base line and increase your resilience. 2026 is the year of Nervous System Hygiene and radically reducing your menopause misery.
🌿 Let's start with your toes:
Do you wake with anxiety?
Major menopause systems are linked to adrenalin surges especially on waking first thing so try this:
Try this and see if you start to feel changes throughout your whole body. This simple exercise triggers anxiety relief and deeper breathing and you can do it even with your shoes on.
Clench your toes .... 20 times!
When your nervous system feels overwhelmed, don’t start with your mind.
Start with your body - and go to your feet. I tried this the other morning on waking and in about 5 or so clenches you start taking deep parasympathetic breaths - the really releasing ones. Clench them slowly and thoughtfully and notice if your breathing changes after a few.
Your feet are full of sensory receptors that constantly tell your brain:
“Where am I?”
“Am I stable?”
“Am I safe?”
Activating them helps shift the nervous system from stress mode → grounding mode and returns you to your body instead of spiraling in your thoughts.
Tiny practice. Big regulation.
Try it today:
20 slow squeezes.
Soft breath.
Notice what changes first.
Your nervous system is always listening.

What I found out about the Menopause and how to deal with it!
I was at a networking event a couple of years ago and the talk that day happened to be Lauren Chiren, from Women of a Certain Stage. I flippantly said ‘I’ll sail through the Menopause’ as I had never given it a thought, it was something that happened in the far future, and I’m a therapist, so I’m sure I’ll be fine.
Then I head Lauren talk and I thought ‘I recognise myself in what she’s saying’. My symptoms weren’t as bad as anything I heard her talk about it, but it mirrored my last year in my old job in computer software, and she touched on a lot of things I’d been feeling over the last couple of years.
Once I got home I checked out 34symptoms.com (sadly not available now but you can get them on my website thenaturalmenopause.co.uk) and I could tick 25 of them.... I was 46!
I couldn’t believe it, I had been questioning whether I was depressed, I didn’t ‘feel’ depressed, but then why could I cry a drop of a hat and why was I getting excrutiating anxiety pains first thing every morning. It was symptoms of the Perimenopause.
But the Menopause is hot flushes right? And so many other symptoms (at least 34!) that I thought there must be a pattern to how they come about in the body. So I got my Chinese Medicine text books out and looked for patterns, as we’re taught to do.
What I found is this... the Perimenopausal symptoms are ‘Cold’, you may never experience any flushes of sweats! Cold symptoms emanate from kidneys, and with our declining hormones the first symptoms appear as tiredness, brain fog, easily upset, overwhelm leading to more increased and debilitating issues such as anxiety, phobias and fears.
This ties in with the decline of Progesterone which happens over many years. When we have Estrogen drop off , which is relatively pretty quickly this is the time we’re more likely to have the heat symptoms and erratic mood swings.
My message now is to women in their 40s who think they may be getting depressed or dementia, its not, its the perimenopause and together we can do something about it!
For women who have progressed in their symptoms Shiatsu is proving fantastic at alleviating even the very worst symptoms, so don’t despair contact me to find out more, or see my happy clients here: thenaturalmenopause.co.uk/successstories
