If you have a long-term health condition, you may be able to get your flu vaccine.
Flu can affect anyone, but for some people it can lead to serious complications like bronchitis or pneumonia, or make existing conditions worse – even if you usually feel well.

You should have the free flu vaccine if you have a condition such as:
• Heart problems
• Chest complaints or serious breathing difficulties (including asthma needing steroid inhalers or tablets)
• Kidney or liver disease
• Diabetes
• Lowered immunity due to illness or treatment
• Neurological conditions (e.g. MS, cerebral palsy)
• A learning disability
• A spleen problem or removal
• Or if you are seriously overweight (BMI 40)

We should have already contacted you if you are eligible for the vaccine, but please call reception if you are yet to book an appointment.

Our dedicated vaccines line is open Tuesday-Thursday, 12-2pm - call us on 01242 501590

Did you know that dementia is not actually a disease itself?

Dementia is a collection of symptoms that result from damage to the brain caused by different diseases, such as Alzheimer's.

These symptoms vary according to the part of the brain that is damaged.
Different types of dementia can affect people differently, and everyone will experience symptoms in their own way.

However, there are some common early symptoms that may appear some time before a diagnosis of dementia.

What is Sober October?

Macmillan Cancer Support is here to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer in the UK, but we can’t do it without you. So we're asking you to get involved in Sober October by going alcohol-free for the month of October, to raise money for people with cancer.

Every penny raised will play a vital role in helping Macmillan Cancer Support fund critical services, so we hope to see you take part in Sober October this year, raising a glass (of something non-alcoholic) to help Macmillan continue supporting people living with cancer.

For benefits, and also an Alcohol Calculator, please visit; https://www.gosober.org.uk/about/the-challenge
