Its May Measure Month

Raised blood pressure is the number one cause of preventable death worldwide. With a quick arm squeeze, we could save millions of lives.

There are many different ways to get your blood pressure checked
➡Visit your local pharmacy
➡Use a home blood pressure monitor and send us your readings
➡Use our patient blood pressure machine in our waiting room
➡Book a check with one of our nurses

What do the numbers mean?
A blood pressure reading consists of two numbers:
Systolic – The first number, which indicates pressure in the arteries when the heart beats.
Diastolic – The second number, which indicates pressure in the arteries when the heart relaxes between beats.

It's the World Health Organization's 'World Immunization Week'.

Vaccines have long been one of the most powerful tools in public health. Over the past 50 years, vaccines have saved more than 150 million lives – not by accident, but because ordinary people made the decision to protect themselves, their children and their communities from diseases like measles, diphtheria, pertussis, polio, and rotavirus.

For more info, please visit their website; https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-immunization-week/2026

For the NHS vaccination schedule please visit; https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/nhs-vaccinations-and-when-to-have-them/

🤝 Friends and family often notice the signs of domestic abuse first, especially when a loved one is neurodivergent.
Abusive partners may exploit differences in communication, sensory needs, memory, or social understanding.

This can include:
🚫 Controlling appointments, medication, or support needs
🧠 Gaslighting or dismissing concerns because of a diagnosis
🔒 Creating dependency by limiting independence or confidence
⚡ Using overwhelm or sensory stress to maintain control

What helps:
✅ Be patient and clear in conversations
💛 Avoid pressure or ultimatums
🧩 Offer practical support and choices
📲 Help them connect with safe, specialist services when they’re ready

You don’t have to fix everything. Being a safe, understanding person matters more than you realise.
