We are so lucky to have this software in Gloucestershire which has improved the integrated care of patients who are being seen in NHS Ophthalmology clinics. We had a lovely night at the Lifestyle Awards last night. Sadly we did not leave with an award but it was amazing to be one of the finalists. It was an honour to be in a room full of so many incredible business owners and charities that make Gloucestershire what it is today. Did you know that it is Myopia Awareness Week? The number of people with myopia is on the increase all around the world. It is an eye condition usually starts in childhood and gets worse with age. Therefore, early diagnosis is essential, especially now that we have myopia management treatments that can help to slow down the progression of myopia. It is glaucoma awareness week this week! Regular examinations are imperative to pick glaucoma up in its earliest stages, ideally before these irreversible changes occur. Because this is so important to us, we have invested in some of the leading OCT technology from which can pick up signs of glaucoma before functional vision loss takes place. Our Optometrists recommend OCT scans for anyone with a family history of glaucoma or anyone with risk factors for glaucoma as part of their routine eye examinations. If you’re not sure if that’s you or not - just ask when you’re booking your next eye examination with us and our wonderful reception team will be happy to advise.
