Theatre News

GCAB has reserved seats in the front stalls of the Everyman Theatre - Cheltenhamn for the play To Sir With Love, an inspirational story of courage and hope, based on the autobiography of E R Braithwaite, ex RAF fighter pilot and Cambridge graduate. It was made into a film in 1967, starring Sidney Poitier.

Ricky Braithwaite is black and, in post-war London, finds a job hard to get. He gets his first teaching post in a tough but progressive East End school. As a determined teacher, he turns teenage rebelliousness into self respect, contempt into consideration and hate into love.

This stage adaptation is peppered with the songs and dances of the late 1940s - which some of us may well remember!

GCAB offers tickets at £14 each (for both members and carers) for the 2pm performance on Thursday 10 October, with live audio description and a touch tour in the morning.

Contact us on 01242 221170 to book, please, by 12th September.

Members of Outlook (young VIP's) group did a fantastic job and volunteer Aran Butler guided them to the finish line in 1 hour and 40 minutes - fantastic and what a great achievement!!

A special thank you to all the children who took part aged between 5-7 years old - this was truly a challenge for them but they ran over the finish line with smiles a plenty!
