🌿 Your thoughts reshape your body...
Most people think thoughts only influence habits. But they can reshape the body too, down to the fascia, your most intelligent connective network.
Every thought carries a signal. Negative thought loops (fear, shame, worry) activate the sympathetic nervous system, flooding your body with stress hormones.
Over time, this stiffens fascia, dehydrates its water-rich matrix, and locks you into the very patterns your thoughts create.
An inflexible mind leads to an inflexible body.
A person holding onto emotional pain holds a lot of physical pain.
Positive, coherent thoughts, on the other hand, soften fascial tone. They activate the parasympathetic system, restore hydration, and allow bioelectric communication to flow again.
Imaging studies even show that mindfulness can literally reduce fascial tension.
Thoughts are informational currents. They shape fascia’s bioelectric signaling, either creating “noise” that traps you in cycles of stiffness, or coherence that reawakens the body’s intelligence. This is being studied in Quantum biology but I think Chinese medicine and bodywork has always known this and just informed us in its own way.

How shiatsu helps this
Very few of us can self regulate naturally it does take a lot of dedication and for the best outcome needs to happen on a daily basis... but then life is also very busy. Shiatsu interupts the negative patterns in the body and course corrects. The more regularly you have this done the more your body learns what the right patterns are.
I've always been a passionate advocate of having shiatsu regularly as I know just how beneficial it has been for me over the last 20 years. I think I'd be in a pretty poor state if I hadn't found this or another similar therapy.
