We're delighted to welcome Mark Griffiths to the Hartpury Tech Box Park this week.
With a proven track record of helping hundreds of people overcome personal barriers, Mark Griffiths founded Real Life Coaching International (RCLI) and Real Integrity Community to give others access to the same opportunities and prospects that took him years of self-exploration and determination to discover for himself.
With many farmers spending long hours working alone in isolation, mental health is the biggest problem facing UK farmers. Through the Hartpury partnership, RLCI looks to empower individuals working in, or supporting the land-based sector.
A Life Coach for 14 years, Mark Griffiths CEO and Founder said: “I want to better understand the challenges faced by farmers and agricultural communities – including anxiety, stress, depression, and loss (e.g. including the grieving process associated with the loss of crops) and equip individuals with the tools to recognise and arrest these negative behaviours.”
Mark continues: “Our Tech Box Park membership will allow us to join the gaps between housing, education, and welfare and support a new industry. I very much look forward to attending farming network events, meeting people, learning more, starting a dialogue, and making an impact on the quality of people’s lives working in agriculture across Gloucestershire and beyond.”

Here is a little update in regards to the Reconnect Programme that we are delivering.
The programme is designed for people who are economically inactive, whether they are in education, unemployed or self-employed but struggling to make their business work financially.
This work is closely connected to BrightSky's vision and mission and we are so excited with how things are developing.
We have attracted our 25 participants who have attended one of our in-person workshops, our online workshops and 1:1 mentoring sessions.

Not everyone who has applied has been eligible due to this project being only accessible for people who live in Devon. We are exploring how we can meet those who have not been eligible by bringing back our Grow Your Gifts program.
The ‘Innovation for Youth and Community’ Employability Grants Devon scheme is led by Petroc, working with BrightSky as a Grant Recipient. It is funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund, which is managed within Devon by Devon County Council.
The UK Community Renewal Fund is a UK Government programme for 2021/22. This aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK, to pilot programmes and new approaches to build community resilience and prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It invests in skills, community and place, local business, and supporting people into employment.
This project will help us to develop BrightSky’s services further and we would like to give a big thank you to Petroc Official for working with us on this.
We are learning so much and looking forward to how we can integrate those learnings into future projects.

Things have been a little bit quiet recently, but things are changing at RLCI, all for the better :).
