🎪THORNTON FEST 2025 🎪

On Friday, we hosted the 2nd Thornton Fest - and we honestly cannot put it into words how incredible it was! From giant inflatable football targets to candy floss machines and non-stop entertainment, we really did have the best day EVER 🤩🎯🎺

Well over 100 people turned up to join the celebrations, including our friendly neighbours, relatives and colleagues. We hope you all had an amazing time and enjoyed our wonderful home!

Huge thanks to everyone who came along, took part in the games, danced with us and helped make the day so perfect. A special thank you to the activities team, Emily, Pat and Emily, for organising yet another successful event. This festival takes so much prep and it's thanks to you that the day went so smoothly 🥰

Let's also give a shout out to our wonderful suppliers and volunteers! Lumberjack Logs, Caitlins Castles, Mersey Entertainments, Stephan from Mencap, Bill from Happy Days Entertainment, Crosby Coffee, Yorkshire Tea and Sweeney's Florist 💕

Have you ever wondered what a day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant really looks like?! 🌞

Well, now you know! Kayleigh over at Riverdale Care Home shared with us what a typical day looks like for her from 8am when the day is just beginning, right through to 8pm when she heads home to spend time with her family (and frenchie 🐶)!

Deputy Manager Brydy told us: "If I was to describe Kayleigh in a sentence, I’d say that she is very positive, helpful, fun and committed."

“Having each other’s back and looking after each other is a good quality in a friend, and William looks after me." 🥰

William and John at Millfield Nursing Home in Bolsover have been best buddies since January 2024 when William joined the Millfield family! The pair grew up in similar circles at school which gave them lots to talk about, as did their shared love of gardening 🌺

Over the past year and a half they have made core memories, going on trips to the local pub and Crich Tramway Village - they have a very special brotherly bond!

A moment for the Bollywood Dancers please 😍 💃 👏

Green Park Nursing Home recently enjoyed some very exciting entertainment as the homes 'stopped off' in India as part of our Cruise Around the World competition! Although every resident and team member had a fantastic time, a special shoutout goes to Malcolm, the happy chappy who is always front and centre of the dancefloor 🪩

Well done to the team for planning such an amazing visit, and thank you to the extremely talented dancers from Care home activity provider!

Cathy has worked at the wonderful Sunderland care home for an incredible 15 years as a Care Assistant (and Senior Care Assistant!). Cathy is supportive, friendly, hard-working and dependable and the team are so grateful for all her contributions!
