I see white feathers everywhere now - Ive not worked out why I see so many but I know its a prompt or a kiss heaven sent

FEATHERS
I sent you a little white feather
I placed it right there in your way
I wrapped it in love with a message
to let you know you’ll be okay
I drew you a colourful rainbow
It followed your car for a while
I made a spectacular rainbow
I hoped it would show me your smile
I flew down a beautiful robin
It landed right there on your ledge
I prayed he would give you the strength
to push yourself back from the edge
I try every day to remind you
that I never did go away
the feathers, the rainbows, the robins
are my way of trying to stay.

A few weeks ago I was invited to the Great Northern Classic to see how they would host a wake or celebration of life. Perhaps if your loved one was into classic cars/motorbikes or even worked in a Rolls Royce shop this is a novel place to go.
Here's some more information
- Parking - There's plenty
- They are licenced but you could also bring your own in
- Catering hot and cold options are available
- Tv screens are available for images
- Wifi is available
- Its in the heart of a community and accessible

So maybe its a motorbike hearse your loved one wanted or a different style of transport - here would be a great place to head afterwards.

Things I'm grateful for today - My not so little boys are now finished for summer. - Yes I'll still be working but just for the next few weeks there's no ironing uniforms, no school runs, no alarms and no packed lunches. Enjoy the slower season enjoy time with your family.

Every service is unique this one we had a New Orleans Jazz Band with us, it was great to hear the live music but also to know that this ladies last wishes were honoured.

Stepping Forward, Honouring the Past
There is a quiet ceremony in putting on a new pair of shoes. They are crisp, unscuffed, their soles still unacquainted with the rough edges of the world. Yet, their promise is palpable. Each new pair holds the silent weight of journeys that have not yet begun—a canvas for stories waiting to be written, steps that will soon echo with purpose.
To part with old shoes is to bid farewell to a chapter. The creased leather and worn heels bear the invisible imprint of all the places they’ve known—chapels, gravesides, sunlit streets, hushed corridors. They have been companions in the profound and the mundane, standing witness when words faltered and only presence mattered. Sometimes, it feels as if gratitude is owed not just to the roads travelled, but to the shoes that carried us along them.
The new shoes, for now, pinch a little. They are strangers to the familiar rhythm of my stride, their stiffness a reminder that comfort comes not at first wear, but through experience—through the repeated act of walking into the unknown. Soon enough, they will soften, bending to my gait, collecting memories with each passing mile. In time, they too will carry the quiet dignity of having been there: in moments of sorrow, in the gentle rituals of farewell, in the simple, steadfast act of moving forward.
So here’s to new shoes: to beginnings that honour what’s been, and to all the meaningful steps still to come.

Happy fathers day - I know today can be filled with sadness and memories in so many ways, The image seemed appropriate it reminds me of my growing up years playing football with my Dad and learning how to climb fences, garages and walls to rescue the ball. Recently I was busily teaching my friends foster son how to climb and grab the ball without getting hurt and I realised in the middle of the moment I had passed a life skill on - so today maybe your struggling find a life lesson from your dad whatever it is and pass it on.

So often families try to hide their grief when actually its an act of love - I don't want you to apologise for crying or showing me your emotions I want you to know that however you are feeling that's ok. Great love is powerful
