DNA - Data March 2026

📢 Patient Update: Missed Appointments (DNA) at Village Surgery
At Village Surgery, we are committed to providing the best possible care for all our patients. However, in recent months we have seen an increase in missed appointments (Did Not Attend – DNA).

We are sharing this information to raise awareness and encourage everyone to let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment. Even a short notice cancellation allows us to reallocate that time to another patient — helping to reduce waiting times and increase access for everyone.

How You Can Help
Please cancel appointments you cannot attend – by phone, text reply, or online.

Update your contact details to ensure you receive appointment reminders.

Arrive on time – if you’re running late, call us and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

By working together, we can reduce DNAs, increase appointment availability, and ensure our community continues to receive timely, high-quality care.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Important Update: Changes to Your Annual Long Term Condition Reviews (LTC)

At Village Surgery, we are always looking at ways to improve how we care for our patients.

We are pleased to let you know that we are changing the way we manage Long-Term Condition (LTC) annual reviews to make the process simpler, more efficient, and more convenient for you.

✅ What’s changing?
Previously, patients with more than one long-term condition (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure) may have been invited for separate appointments throughout the year.

We are now introducing a new Multi-Condition Review system.

🔄 What does this mean for you?
If you have more than one long-term condition, you will now:

Be invited for one annual review appointment
Have all of your conditions reviewed together
Receive a more joined-up and personalised approach to your care
💡 Why are we making this change?
This new approach will:

Reduce the number of appointments you need to attend
Help you manage your health more easily
Allow our clinical team to look at your health as a whole, not just one condition at a time
Improve the quality and coordination of your care
📅 When will this happen?
This new system will begin from April 2026
You will be contacted when your review is due.

📲 What do I need to do?
Please ensure your contact details are up to date
When invited, book your appointment promptly
Some reviews may include a pre-appointment questionnaire or initial checks (e.g. blood tests or blood pressure readings)
❤️ We’re here to support you
If you have any questions about this change, please contact our reception team.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to improve our services.

Patient Update: Your Feedback is Driving Change at Village Surgery

We are pleased to share that our Patient Feedback, Complaints & Learning Report for 2025/26 is now available to view on our website. Under Complaints & feedback section)

At Village Surgery, your feedback is incredibly important to us. It helps us understand what we are doing well and where we can improve, ensuring we continue to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care for all our patients.

We believe that feedback should lead to meaningful action. That is why we follow our “So What?” approach — not only listening and responding to concerns, but asking:

What have we learned?
What has changed as a result?
This ensures that every piece of feedback contributes to real improvements and positive change across our services.

Our latest report highlights:

The types of feedback and complaints we have received
What we have learned from them
The actions we have taken to improve patient care
We remain committed to a transparent and open learning culture, where patient voices are valued and drive continuous improvement.

💬 Have Your Say
Your feedback continues to shape our services.

If you would like to share your experience, raise a concern, or provide suggestions, please:

Super Bodies Campaign

What is the Super Bodies Campaign?
Super Bodies is a national campaign to support child-health, designed to help parents and carers understand how children’s amazing immune systems work — and how most common childhood illnesses can be safely managed at home.

🛡️ Why “Super Hero Bodies”?
Children really are superheroes.

Their immune systems are:

💪 Strong

🧠 Smart

⚡ Designed to fight off most minor illnesses on their own

Things like:

Coughs

Sore throats

Earache

Runny noses

Mild fevers

are usually caused by viruses, and antibiotics do not work against viruses.

Using antibiotics when they aren’t needed can:

Reduce their effectiveness in the future

Cause unnecessary side effects

Make infections harder to treat later in life

Letting the body do what it does best helps build stronger immunity for the future.

Weather update - keep safe
❄️ Winter Weather Update – Please Take Care When Visiting the Surgery ❄️
Due to the current weather forecast, snow and icy conditions are expected over the coming days.

Please be aware that our car park may be icy. The car park is gritted daily, however changing conditions between snow and rain can cause surfaces to become slippery at short notice. We kindly ask all patients and visitors to take extra care when arriving and leaving the surgery.

We also advise patients to:

Wear appropriate footwear with good grip

Allow extra time for travel

Dress warmly for cold weather

Please note that while the heating is on throughout the surgery, the building can feel colder than usual due to doors opening frequently.

If you feel it is unsafe to travel, or if your appointment can be managed by telephone or online consultation, please contact the practice to discuss alternative options.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Stay safe and warm.
