Mother's Day at Manorfields..

On Sunday, we had the pleasure of celebrating Mother’s Day with our residents and their families. It was a lovely day, and it was great to see families in the home sharing time together and having fun. There was lots of laughter and some great memories were shared. Everyone really enjoyed celebrating Mums and the great things they do for all of us! A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums!

Getting ready for Easter....

Yes, it's that time of year again, when all things egg, chick, chocolate, bonnets, and bunnies come to the fore! Not to be caught unprepared, our lovely residents thought they would steal a march on the Easter weekend and started making some decorations - or should that be eggorations?? Either way, the results look lovely, and we're all looking forward to celebrating Easter in style.

A welcome visitor....

Our lovely residents always enjoy a visit from man's best friend, and this week was no exception when the lovely Luca, a therapy dog, came to visit the home. He was an instant wow with our residents, who loved having him in the home. Pet therapy is a wonderful way of giving our residents a tactile and sensory experience, which they thoroughly enjoy.

Enjoying activities.....

At Manorfields, we offer a wide range of activities to suit all the different likes of our residents - after all, not everyone likes the same thing. This week has seen us playing indoor skittles, having fun with colouring and painting, and tackling jigsaws. All our activities are designed to engage our residents as much as possible. Many of them are crucial for maintaining fine motor skills, which become increasingly important as we age. Above all, they are fun, and it's great to see everyone enjoying themselves.

Marvellous Memories...

Our lovely residents here at Manorfields have a wealth of life experiences behind them. One of the ways we bring those past events or experiences back to life is by having memory boxes in the home to jog the thought processes and help everyone remember good times. This week, we had just such a session, and everyone had lots of fun recalling times gone by.

Peaceful Pastimes.....

After the excitement and bustle of Christmas and New Year, it was nice for our residents to settle down to some gentler activities this week. They really enjoyed doing some colouring and jigsaws, whilst looking at the cold weather outside. Both activities are excellent at promoting engagement and helping fine motor skills. Not forgetting to mention that everyone thoroughly enjoyed taking part.

Fun and Games.....

Having fun didn't come to an end at Manorfields just because the festive season came to a close....oh no! We are adept at keeping the January blues away! This week, we have been playing indoor games to keep minds and bodies exercised. We have quite a competitive crowd at the home so there were lots of laughs and some fierce tussles. We hope you are en joying January as much as our residents!
