📢 Important Notice: Call-Back Feature Outage

We are currently experiencing a technical difficulties affecting the call-back feature on our surgery phone line. Our phone lines are functioning normally otherwise.

A cough that lasts for three weeks or more could be a sign of cancer. It’s probably nothing serious, but if it is cancer, finding it early makes it more treatable and can save lives. Contact your GP practice.

Been prescribed antibiotics? Make sure you take the right dose at the right time as directed by your GP, nurse or pharmacist, finishing the course as directed. Antibiotics don't work for colds and flu as those are viral, not bacterial infections.

Antibiotics are losing their power. It's called antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and it's serious. People are ending up in hospital — and some are even dying — from infections that antibiotics can't beat anymore.

If antibiotics stop working, even minor infections could become deadly. This happens when bacteria evolve to survive the medicines meant to kill them.

The Autumn 2025 COVID-19 vaccination programme focuses on protecting those most at risk of serious illness.

Eligible groups include:
- Adults aged 75 and over
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed

Lister House Surgery will be closing early today, Wednesday 19th of November for staff training and development from 1PM.

Patients can still contact the practice online, but our phone line and reception desks will be closed . All online requests submitted after 1PM will be dealt with the next working day.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

All GP surgeries are allocated these afternoons throughout the year by the local health authority.
