The thyroid is a small gland in your neck that plays a big role in regulating your body’s functions.

Thyroid cancer is rare and often silent in its early stages—but it’s highly treatable and curable when caught before it has spread to other parts of the body. Watch for these signs:

• A painless, slow-growing lump in the neck
• Persistent hoarseness

Appointments for flu jabs will start from 1st October 2025.

All eligible patients will be invited by the end of September.

Invitations will be sent via text message with a booking link. If you don’t receive texts, we’ll send a letter.

If you believe you're eligible but haven’t heard from us by the end of September, please contact the surgery.

We’ll also arrange visits for housebound patients and those in residential care.

At Lister House, we know how difficult it is to get through on the phone. While we can’t solve the wider capacity issues we face overnight, we’re constantly working to improve the patient experience where we can.

With the change in the prescription queries line opening hours (although reduced), we have:

- Increased staffing from 1 to 2 pharmacy team members

- Increased cover to 8 man-hours (from 5.5 hours)

- Added a queue system to the pharmacy phone line – fewer dropped calls

- Give the team more time to complete follow-up tasks once the line closes

Just one of the small ways we’re working to improve your experience in the current challenging circumstances.
