Reminder For Patients -

Please note that due to the bank holiday on Monday 25th August, we are shut. This means that during this time, no phone calls will be answered. Should you ring us and press the option for a call back, the call back request may not be processed correctly or an attempt to call you back will not be made until Tuesday.

Should you require any medical needs within this time, please call 111 or in an emergency, 999. The urgent care centre and A&E will be open as normal.

The surgery will be open again as normal on Tuesday 26th August at 8am.

INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS -

ASTON - Please kindly note that due to un-foreseen circumstances, Aston Dispensary will be closing at 5pm today. Opening hours will be back to normal next week.

ALVASTON - We now have NEW opening hours for Alvaston Dispensary. For the foreseeable, the updated operating hours will be 9am-1pm.
Please note that we still have our MedPoint, that can be used 24/7 to collect your medication.

PRACTICE HALF DAY CLOSURE - WEDNESDAY 16th July

The surgery will be back open as usual at 8am on Thursday 17th July.

Please note that this mandatory closure applies to both the Alvaston Surgery and the Aston Surgery.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - STRIKE ACTION

Please be advised that, due to the ongoing pay dispute with the government, doctors in England have voted in favour of taking industrial action.

Following this decision, we can now confirm the dates on which our doctors are scheduled to participate in strike action.

The confirmed strike dates are as follows:

Junior doctors (registrars and F2's):

Commencing – Friday 25th July, at 7am
Conclusion – Wednesday 30th July, at 7am

At present, no further dates for industrial action have been scheduled. However, this is subject to change depending on ongoing discussions between the government and the British Medical Association (BMA).

During the aforementioned period, patients may experience increased difficulty in accessing clinical services. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time, and we thank you for your continued support of our medical professionals.

In light of the recent national media coverage regarding the availability of Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) via the NHS, many general practices have reported a significant increase in speculative patient requests. A substantial proportion of these enquiries are being submitted by individuals who do not meet the strict clinical eligibility criteria for NHS prescribing.

In direct response to this avoidable surge in demand, General Practice Solutions (GPS) has produced a clear, evidence-informed poster to relay this information back to our patients.

TO THE ATTENTION OF PATIENTS -

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, the dispensary at Alvaston will closing at 1pm today.

We would like to kindly remind patients that we have our MedPoint medication collection station, should you wish to collect any outstanding medication and our dispensary at Aston still remains open for any Aston dispensing patients.

The Alvaston Dispensary will be back open as normal from 9am tomorrow.
