My story 📖
If you want more info please do read below but to summarise, these experiences cannot be just put into individual moments or individual memories but have formulated our current methodology at Optimum Derby, we listen to your thoughts, goals, aspirations and challenges or blockages. We will work with you to remove those challenges and utilise objective data to enhance your plan and programming.
It all started in 2012 when I graduated from University with a Sports Therapy degree, this gave me a platform to work on. There were pictures at university of placements with Tonga rugby, Samoa rugby, Gloucester rugby and my university graduation but I couldn’t find them amongst the albums.
2012/3 highlighted my first year working in football at Notts County on an internship, learning lots from more experienced staff and seeing injuries first hand.
2013 I left full time football for a clinical and consultancy role at Function Jigsaw. My first trip and maybe my love for travelling involved myself as a therapist on a London to Monte Carlo cycle ride.
2014 first work with GB snowsport to help reduce injury risk and improve the rehab pathway leading into 3 Olympics.
2018 involved a series of trips north to Edinburgh rugby to support their team in utilising objective data to reduce injury and optimise rehabilitation.
2019 was the first of a few trips with Jamie Green to Spa for the GT 24hr race. This was more about athlete support than injuries and rehab.
2021 was the inauguration of Optimum Derby, and the start of something new.
2021 also involved a rift of new roles with again athlete support and injury management being the key factors.
2022 was my first experience of professional cricket and what an eye opener that was. A new found respect for pro cricket. 22 also had work back at St George’s Park where things started with Notts County, corporate work and British Touring driver support.
2023 returned to GB snowsport for moguls working towards 2026 Olympics.
2024 the most happy year yet with our little addition to the team, Una.
