When one of our residents asked for a Rammy tattoo, one of our staff members had the brilliant idea of bringing in her henna and decorating some of the resident’s hands! We have had decorated hands in various styles, two Rammy henna’s (one on a hand, one on an ankle!) and some staff members have had names or other designs!

A huge thank you to our new favourite henna artist, we look forward to sorting out an official day for all of our residents to choose designs during Diwali!

Our library is fully stocked with a variety of genres to make sure every resident can enjoy a good book. Whether it be thriller, cosy crime, romance or historical fiction, we have a bit of everything! Our large print section is especially handy for those with difficulty reading small print 📖

Our library has had an upgrade! We’ve gained lots of new books for our residents to browse. Our large print books have a particularly impressive selection now with more than twenty books!

🎉 Congratulations to our second Good Care Month campaign winner, Libby Eason-Coulson!

Libby, a Auxiliary Nurse Coordinator at Brookfields Private Nursing Home was nominated for her commitment to helping her residents.

One of their bed-bound residents had been receiving debt collection letters for energy usage at her home address, despite not having lived there for the past five months. She was understandably worried about bailiffs entering the property while she wasn’t there. The bills were based on estimated readings, so the wonderful Libby, with the resident’s permission, travelled to the house, read the outdoor meters herself, and helped submit accurate readings. As a result, over £100 was knocked off the bill, and the resident was finally able to sleep better that night.
