Yesterday I found out I had Generalised Anxiety Disorder. It hit me hard because I’ve always considered myself to be mentally strong and loved going out on my own and meeting people. Now when I look back over the past few years I realise I’ve shied away from socialising and going out in my wheelchair. Not to mention the overwhelming anxiety I get with not being able to provide for or protect my family the way I consider a father and husband should. All of this is a hidden consequence of my disability and something I’d never considered. I guess it’ll take some time to get my head round it but you can find out a bit more about GAD here.

It really is worth talking to someone if you think you might be suffering with this or any other metal health condition.

I have to come clean with you all.

Today I parked in a disabled bay and didn’t put out my Blue Badge!!!!

I was that person I rant and rage about. I can only apologise and say I’ve learned a lesson.

Sometimes people forget and that leads to a Blue Badge languishing in a glovebox instead of being front-and-centre on the dashboard.

I need to remember we’re all human and these things happen. I’d like to think I’d have taken it well if someone pointed it out to me.

I promise to do better in the future.

Well it’s a new year. I can finally put last year behind me and hope that this year things improve a bit.

I know I’ve hardly posted at all for so long and that’s all down to being very ill. I’ve no idea what’s causing it but the world seems to be a very strange place at the moment for everyone.

Let me know how you’re finding it or if it’s been a very positive time for you.

I’ve seen a lot of great designs and aids for the disabled community that I want to share with you over the coming months. If you’ve come across anything you think would be helpful, then please share it with us. Whether it’s aimed at the disabled market or not. Maybe it’s an everyday item that has some use for the disabled community or a device that’s made purely for mobility impaired persons(!) 😉

I look forward to getting going on things this year and building Wheel Life Journey into what I hoped it would be.

If you want to add a bit of bling to your wheelchair, take a look at Bowhead’s new wheel offering. The 559s come in a variety of handrim, hub colours and wheel rim combinations. With a starting price of $1,999 they’re not the cheapest wheels on the planet, but they probably are the best looking ones. 😉

Customers outside of The United States and Canada please use the Google Form below to submit your order for your Bowhead 559s

This is so important. Please sign it. Re-assessment is degrading and causes huge anxiety. Life long conditions that have been assessed will not change. Why waste time reassessing? Thank you.

I want the Government to end PIP reassessments for people with life-long conditions, so that once this benefit has been granted, it cannot be removed. I think it is unfair that people with life-long conditions can lose PIP.

Woah! 😯🤯 This is amazing. No more words are needed. This guy says it all.

🤣😠 Can't decide whether to laugh or be cross after reading this gem! 'Amy' claims disabled toilet stalls are for 'legitimate needs' but then complains they're too small for people with luggage! The irony! What's your take on this? Share your thoughts and experiences below!

Dear Amy: I have only been able to use handicapped bathrooms for the last 10 years. Many places only have one larger stall, which is often occupied by a non-handicapped person. The regular stalls are …
