We had a fantastic time playing bean bag toss—lots of laughter, friendly competition, and great teamwork from everyone! 😊

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to the kind lady who donated the beautiful flower display for us. 🌷 It has truly brightened up our space, and both residents and staff have loved admiring it.

🌸 Joy’s Wish Came True 🌸

One of the lovely wishes on our Wish Tree was from Joy, who wanted a trip to a nail salon for some pampering—and we were so happy to make it happen! 💅✨

Joy had a wonderful time being treated and left with beautiful nails and an even bigger smile. Moments like these remind us how important it is to make wishes come true, no matter how big or small. 💖

🐾 Paws, Smiles & Special Moments 🐾

Today we had another lovely visit from Pause with Paws, and as always, it brought so much joy to our residents. The comfort, companionship, and gentle presence of the animals make such a meaningful difference.

These visits are especially valuable for residents who prefer to stay in their rooms, helping them feel connected, relaxed, and uplifted in a way that truly matters.

We’re so grateful for these special moments that brighten everyone’s day 💛

⛪ A Peaceful Visit from St Michael’s Church ⛪

This week we were delighted to welcome our friends from St Michael’s Church for our monthly church service at The Firs 🙏✨

It was a lovely, calm and reflective time enjoyed by residents and staff alike, filled with familiar hymns, comforting words, and a wonderful sense of community. Moments like these are always very special to us.

🦋 Exciting News at The Firs! 🦋

We have two lovely updates to share with you all today!

First, we’ve started a brand-new project… we are watching the amazing metamorphosis of caterpillars into butterflies! 🐛➡️🦋 Our new little friends have settled in well, and the residents have really enjoyed checking in on their progress each day. (Although we have to admit, a few weren’t quite as impressed as others!) 😄

We can’t wait to share their full journey with you—so stay tuned as we watch them grow and transform!

We also wanted to update you on our garden seating area renovation 🌿✨ The space is coming along beautifully, with fresh new flowers planted and plenty of colour brightening up the garden. It’s now a peaceful and welcoming spot, and we warmly invite residents, families, and loved ones to sit and enjoy it together.

🌼 A Lovely Day of Bingo & Spring Colours! 🌼

Today we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon filled with fun and creativity! We started with lively games of bingo, with plenty of excitement and, of course, prizes for our lucky winners 🏆✨

Afterwards, we got creative with some beautiful spring-themed painting, helping to brighten up our home with fresh colours and cheerful designs 🎨🌷

A wonderful day of laughter, friendly competition, and creativity all around!

Happy St George’s Day! 🇬🇧

We had a lovely time celebrating with some creative colouring, decorating the home with our St George’s pictures. A big thank you to our wonderful chef Majella, who treated us to a traditional English sausage and mash, followed by a delicious Victoria sponge with cream 🍰

A perfect day filled with creativity, good food, and great company!

🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌱

Our staff and management team have been working hard transforming a little area of the garden, and we’re so excited to share a sneak peek of how it’s coming along!

Our wonderful residents have also been busy getting involved—helping to de-weed, planting potatoes, and sowing seeds for what will soon be beautiful flowers. 🌼🥔

Others have simply been soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the fresh air, making the most of this lovely weather. ☀️

We can’t wait to show you more as our garden continues to grow! 💚

☕ National Tea Day Celebrations at The Firs ☕

Today we marked National Tea Day in the sweetest way! Our residents enjoyed decorating delicious biscuits to pair perfectly with a lovely cup of tea, followed by a fun-filled game of Tea Party Bingo. There were smiles all around, plenty of laughs, and of course… lots of tea! 🫖💛

💐 A Beautiful Kind Gesture 💐

A big thank you to our local florist for their kind donation of these lovely flowers 🌸

One of our wonderful residents had a great time arranging them, and they’ve truly brightened up our home here at The Firs. It’s amazing how something so simple can bring so much joy 💛
