We provide urgent, GP, community and 111 care across the Midlands, but we spread our wings much further than that.

By constantly upgrading and replacing our medical equipment, we are in a position to send obsolete but usable supplies overseas to those who need it, including this donation of life saving defibrillators and walking aids to help those affected by the war in Ukraine.

💙When she received her diagnosis, it brought a mix of emotions. Relief was one of them, as behaviours and challenges she had always questioned about herself suddenly had an explanation.

“The diagnosis didn’t change who I am, but it changed the way I understand myself.”

Instead of seeing herself as forgetful or disorganised, she began to recognise that there were real reasons behind those challenges and started finding ways of working that suited her better.

🤝She shared her diagnosis with us at DHU and being able to speak openly and feel genuinely listened to has helped build confidence and created an environment where she feels understood, not judged.

We’re pleased to welcome Nicky Lloyd as DHU’s new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

As DHU continues to grow as a trusted NHS partner, this role will strengthen how we manage partnerships, contracts and value for money - helping ensure we make the best use of resources for patients, colleagues and communities.

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), any surplus we generate is reinvested back into our services. Strong commercial leadership helps us continue to deliver sustainable, high-quality care across NHS 111, urgent & emergency care and primary care.

Nicky brings over 30 years’ experience across the NHS and private sector, including Board-level roles as Chief Finance Officer and Acting Chief Executive.

Nicky Lloyd said:
“I’m really pleased to be joining DHU at such an important time. The organisation plays a vital role within the NHS and its community interest company model means there is a strong focus on doing the right thing for patients, colleagues and communities.”

Stephen Bateman, Chief Executive, added:

Sometimes we get a lovely comment from a patient that reminds us why we do what we do.

We've kept it anonymous, but this person was looked after at home by our Community Virtual Ward team - the condition needed urgent care but not a hospital admission, exactly the kind of care outlined in the NHS long term plan.

Knowing when we get it right for you, our patients, in the right place is the best compliment we can get.
