I often get asked about how to cleanse stones.
A few times over the years told I have had clients say that other people have recommended washing them under running water.
For many stones washing is a valid form of cleaning, cleansing and energising; however, there are a number of stones for which contact with water can be very damaging.
Here are 12 stones which may be negatively affected by contact with water:
Opal
Turquoise
Apatite
Azure
Selenite
Apophyllite
Fluorite
Celestite
Labradorite
Hematite
Pyrite
Selenite
Moon bathing is a great alternative, it is free and takes little effort, a charging wheel is great but takes time and consideration, sage smudge sticks have been recommended to me before too.
I mostly use sun and moon bathing, and singing bowls for cleansing, charging and adding intentions, these are quick, low cost and effective methods that don't cause significant stone damage.
I hope you find this informative.
Please let me know if you are looking to book a crystal healing session or to purchase any stones (I have a limited stock) or order beaded stone jewellery (these can be personalised to meet specific healing needs).
