Hi everyone 💛

I’m asking for a little bit of support from my friends, family and followers. If you have a moment, please consider signing and sharing this petition to protect the Wear and Tear tax rule for childminders.

Childminders provide such an important service for families – offering a safe, nurturing, home-from-home environment where children can learn, play and grow. With the rising cost of living, many childminders are already under huge pressure. Removing this tax rule would make things even harder and could force many to stop childminding altogether.

If that happens, it doesn’t just affect childminders, it affects families who rely on childcare and children who benefit from early years care and education in a small, caring home setting.

Please take a moment to sign and share the petition if you can. Every signature really does help show how important childminders are in supporting children, families and our communities.

🌟Look at our amazing new tuff tray with storage!🌟

I’m so excited to share our beautiful new tuff tray with built-in storage, here at Coco’s Adventures Childminding. It’s made from amazing quality solid wood and has plenty of space underneath for storing all our outdoor equipment, helping keep everything organised and ready for play.

I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to have been generously gifted this by Sendiplay Sensory The children are going to enjoy using this so much, and I can’t wait to set up lots of exciting sensory and learning activities on it!

As I come to the end of my final shift with the NHS, I can’t help but reflect on what the last 7 years have meant to me.

It’s been a very bumpy ride at times. I started my journey when my first child, my wonderful daughter, was just a 1 year old. Then came 2020 and working through COVID on ICU, something that will stay with me forever. In between those intense years, I’ve welcomed two beautiful baby boys into our family, and somehow juggled motherhood alongside my NHS career.

I began as a Band 2 on the intensive care unit and worked my way up to a Band 4 on the Children’s Continuing Care Team , a role I can honestly say I have absolutely loved. Supporting children and families has been such a privilege, and I will always be grateful for the experience, friendships and growth those years have given me.

But now… it’s time for a new chapter ✨

I am officially stepping out of my uniform and into my new venture, Cocos Adventures Childminding ,full time! No more juggling shifts, childcare and business dreams all at once. Just a fresh start doing something I am truly passionate about.

I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Cocos Adventures and all the little ones who will be part of our journey. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the highs and lows, your encouragement means the world.

Here’s to new beginnings 💛

Just a reminder to my lovely families that you have to reconfirm your childcare code every 3 months to continue getting your funding for childcare, you should receive an email from the Derby city council to remind you when to do this. 🫶🏻

If you have a working parent childcare code, please remember to reconfirm it before your end date. You can do this through your childcare account. It’s easy to do and will only take a few minutes!

I’ll be offering care at a discounted introductory rate of just £40 per day, per child 9am-3pm. (Please note I will be able to offer longer days and be flexible if needed at £6.25 per hour out of these hours).

Join Family Hubs for 5 week Baby Massage courses! 💆

These groups are run by a trained member of the Family Hub team or a Health professional and allow you to connect with your baby. You will learn new techniques to help with sleep, digestion and much more. Babies need to be pre-mobile and must have had their 8 week GP check to attend. Interested? Then please get in touch and they will add you to their waiting list. Places will be offered when a space becomes available.

Good morning everyone ☀️

How lovely is it to finally have the sunshine here! It really does make such a difference to the start of the day. This morning I took four very happy children to school and nursery, all full of smiles and in such good spirits with the sunshine brightening their day. Moments like this remind me why I love what I do so much.

I’m sharing this photo after a lovely meeting and training session yesterday because there’s a very important message on my heart. At Cocos Adventures Childminding, inclusion will always be the heart and soul of my setting.

In this photo, not one child is the same. They are all beautifully different, and that is something to be celebrated. I will always meet every child’s needs individually. Their health, wellbeing and happiness will always be my main priority. No child in my care will ever feel that their needs are not being met.

I will take the time to truly get to know each and every child, understanding what makes them unique, and I will always adapt anything that needs adapting to ensure they feel safe, supported and valued. Providing a high quality of care is something I am deeply committed to each and every day.

Slots are available Monday to Friday, 9am–3pm perfect if you need a little extra flexibility or cover during the month. (I can be flexible on some days during this month so please message me and we can work something out if your needing a longer day)

Please note, these spaces are on a temporary basis only. From April onwards, Coco's Adventures Childminding will be fully booked, so this is a wonderful opportunity to make use of our care whilst spaces are available! 🌈

What an absolutely fantastic day we had at National Forest Adventure Farm today! 🐑🐖🐴

It may have been a cold day, but it was filled with the warmest smiles, so much laughter, and countless special memories ❄️😊

The children enjoyed so many hands-on learning experiences feeding the lambs, watching lambs being born (such a magical moment!), feeding a variety of farm animals, and even going on a tractor and trailer ride 🚜. There were opportunities everywhere to learn about life cycles, caring for animals, turn-taking, new vocabulary, and building confidence.

And of course, there was plenty of time for play and adventure too! The children played for hours, exploring, discovering, and supporting one another along the way.

Days like today are what Cocos Adventures Childminding is all about, learning through real experiences, building happy memories, and embracing every opportunity to explore the world around us.

What a truly wonderful day 💛
