Another VIP tour today. The lovely staff from Fleetwood Hall joined us for a tour front and back of house at our branches in Cleveleys and Lytham. Followed by a tour of Lytham Park Crematorium Chapel, Crematory and a wander in the beautiful grounds. Thank you to Rebecca at Lytham Park for assisting us today. We hope you all enjoyed the tour and found it informative, thank you for joining us.

✨️Have you ever wondered what we call the platform at the crematorium where the coffin is placed ? It is called a catafalque, a decorative wooden platform. Traditionally they would have been used for a coffin laying in state so mourners could pass by and pay their respects. Now they are used at all crematoriums to support the coffin throughout the service.

✨️When viewing a loved one or a loved one being wheeled into church or crematorium the coffin is placed on a wheel bier. Below is a traditional wooden wheel bier and the modern aluminium wheel bier we use now.
