Happy fourth anniversary to the lovely (and very popular) Fairhaven Lake Cafe - Lakeside.
Of course that's a milestone connected to its refurbishment and relaunch. The building has a long history, including being the Fairhaven Golf Club clubhouse from 1894 to 1899.
Was it an Italian restaurant too at one stage?
Vintage photo with thanks to John Roberts.

What connects "England's grandest folly" - The Ashton Memorial in Lancaster's Williamson Park (also known as The Taj Mahal of the North) - and our stunning Ashton Gardens in St Annes on Sea?
They are wonderful legacies from Lancaster industrialist James Williamson Jr., Lord Ashton. He was sometimes referred to as 'The Lino King', and had a grand bungalow on the seafront at St Annes.
When St George's Gardens in our town centre fell into a terrible state, he stepped in and invested in expansion and improvement, then left the renamed park to the residents.

Well done to the team of volunteers who once more hung the beautiful St Anne's Bellringers poppy cascade at St Annes Parish Church...in the rain!
It will be there to view until 12th November.
Apparently, the Royal Artillery Association stepped in to dry and store it for the past year.

Wow....what a great way to showcase how community and visitors can come together to have FUN in the new events space!
Local businesses got involved and benefitted from temporary pedestrianisation and influx of happy families.
Did you go to Fylde Fest in the new look St Annes Square? What was your favourite thing?

Did the boating pool in St Annes on Sea ever get this busy....or as big and bright blue?
Love these retro posters for our timelessly wonderful seaside resort.

This would be such a good idea along the section of seawall where you have Granny's Bay on one side and Fairhaven Lake on the other...plus you can see sunrises and sunsets there!
What do you think?
And you can't have too much seating on our beautiful coast.
