Feast & Thrive - Feel Good Food Feel good food that's healthy and full of flavour! Some of my favourite meal ideas and inspiration. Sometimes I like to cheat, it's all about balance right?

ound cakes & patisserie running my business Too Nice To Slice. Since those early bootcamp days I have learnt so much more about nutrition that I now follow a clean eating diet 90% of the time. Because of my passion for a healthier lifestyle and my pursuit of good food I decided to create a healthy meals inspiration page, sharing my healthy clean eating recipes with you plus a few naughty treats thrown in to keep us sane! My passion for the subject fuelled a need to learn more and I have since graduated with a first class honours degree in physical activity, nutrition and health at the age of 54!! (It's never too late) and I am currently studying for an MSc in Human Nutrition at Manchester Metropolitan university, and working towards registered nutritionist status (ANutr). I have now created The Nourish Tribe - offering nutritional support for anyone looking to focus on health and weight management. As a 50+ woman who has struggled to maintain a healthy weight for most of my life, I totally get how hard it can be, and recognise the value of the support I have received on my weight management journey. Lovely morning down the allotment, I absolutely love going there, it’s so peaceful, like a secret garden. It’s also the perfect opportunity for grounding, connecting with Mother Earth 🙏 todays gifts include green beans, beetroot, mustard leaves, sage leaves for drying, and these stunning redcurrants and red gooseberries ❤️❤️ those gooseberries do t like to be picked though, ouch!! 😂 💞

And so it begins again! Excited to be starting a new journey studying for a Diploma in Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy.

After 5 years of studying BSc Health and Nutrition and an MSc in Human Nutrition I’m finally gonna get to the good stuff!

Biomedicine, Naturopathic Philosophy and Principles, Laws of Cure and Disease Suppression, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Functional Medicine, Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine!

Head down for another 5 years 😱 Eek 😬 bring it on! My Freedom Fighting and Activism might have to take a back seat for a while, but at least I’ll be well armed to help people when the SHTF 😉😅

My Story

Approaching 50 I was aware that I really wasn't at my healthiest so I signed up to something called metabolic makeover at a local gym. Little did I know that Emma & her team would have such a huge impact on my life! I have worked in the food industry all my life in various roles from chef, restaurant manager & tutor. I love food & for the past 15 years my life has revolved around cakes & patisserie running my business Too Nice To Slice. Since joining that gym 5 years ago I learnt so much more about health and nutrition and a better understanding of how food affects our well being, I now have a much healthier attitude towards my diet & food choices and enjoy sharing inspiration for dishes I enjoy. I decided to change my dedicated chocolate page into a food inspiration page so I can share my healthier recipes with you plus a few naughty treats thrown in to keep us sane! This is just my journey, I have a love of healthy foods & I still love a dirty burger or anything salted caramel. Life is all about balance! I think the key is to exercise daily and follow a healthy diet rule of 80/20. Since changing this page over to healthy food ideas I enrolled on a Physical Activity, Nutrition & Health Degree, (graduating with a first class honours May 2020) with a view to helping people make healthier food choices and encouraging everyone to try new recipes, cook from scratch and bin the processed foods that are causing all our health problems! I hope you'll enjoy trying some of the dishes I create and others I will share from other pages. Enjoy your food, keep moving and stay healthy. Cheryl x
