I’m working on a book and thought I’d share the premise and see if people want to read more the original will be on my blog above
We all have have to some degree and understanding of numbers be they from superstitions or from Christianity or many other religions and cultures. 13 being thought of as unlucky for example or 7 being lucky or 3 being the magical number and related to the Christian trinity. Numbers and their concepts are even engrained into our language. ‘being at odds’ with someone for example or ‘steering on an even keel’
The use of numbers in esoteric ideas or spiritual concepts alongside Astrology, Physics, Religion, Alchemy, The Tarot, and Kabbala concepts such as the sephirot I would suggest are all related to each other and I thought this would be a good way to sew together these ideas and demonstrate how they are all telling the same story. I hope that by using numbers we can all have common point of reference and some where to start.
The Number 1
One can be seen as Oneness, the first idea. One is obviously singular and stands alone. It is also the first point of reality in the physical world if you draw a line or make a dot, this is the start; to proceed to make shapes or forms you need more points of reference.
One is also associated with a circle as a simple dot, or full stop and in mathematics can be defined as a one dimensional shape. The idea of a circle being a representation of a whole thing must also stem from this idea. ( more to follow )
