Why Choose Wednesday? Can we make that a thing 🤭

When your current audio read matches the new spicy wax melts perfectly ... 🥵 The Ruthless Boys series is definitely one of my favourites for fantasy with a dose of spice, I don't know what the twisted sisters put in these books but they are definitely my guilty pleasure!

Are you a spicy reader or do you prefer your romance clean/closed door, or perhaps no romance at all?

I'm a full on romance reader, inhaling anything that gets anywhere near me...and the spice, the more the better quite frankly!

Paul is not occasionally a romance reader, however did enjoy a dose of Elsie Silver (who can't love Cade & Willa) and together we normally listen to STEM romance books on road trips (Ali Hazelwood, Helen Hoang, Graeme Simsion) ❤️

All 3 of these melts (and a few more) are online now in very very limited quantities, we're talking no more than 3 of each and some there's only 1 left. We're melting Your Favourite Mistake today and it is 👌🏻

Oh hello again 👋🏻
Whilst there's been a few shop posts, it's been a while since something a little more bookish! Honestly the last few months reading has definitely suffered, but we are changing that!
This morning started with an absolutely delicious layered iced coffee and a peruse of the sprayed edge shelves (which are overflowing!). This edition of This Monster of Mine caught my eye and I couldn't resist taking a closer peep!

Today we've taken a day away from the workshop... Mainly because it's chaos! We've spent two days moving the entire room around to create more space ready for stock (hello alllll the books we've got coming for the bus!) and to create a space to hold some in person workshops and shopping evenings! But....it always gets worse before it gets better and we are definitely in that stage where there's stuff everywhere! 🙈

But no complaints here, we're taking a day to sit in the sunshine in the garden, with a large stack of books, boardgames and nibbles...and a little bit of prep work on the Advents 🤫

Yep you read that right, the advent calendars are on their way! 🤭 We've been working on these for so long and think we've combined all the best bits of what we've learnt over the years... So this year is going to be incredible!

We are absolutely thrilled to be back at this year! Joining Bex and the team for our fourth year!

1. Write a Letter & send it to the future with our magical postbox!
Pick up a pack at the Whisporia stall with your envelope, paper, pen and some vintage style washi and deco. Spend a little time during the day writing your letter to your future self or perhaps a loved one. Add the address and your delivery date onto the front and pop it back in the postbox on the stall before you leave StationeryFest. The Whisporia Whisps will then send your letter into the future to be delivered by a date of your choosing in the next 12 months. £5 UK addresses, £7.50 International addresses.

With many new followers and some sporadic posting recently we thought we'd do a little "meet the makers" post & 2025 so far photo dump.

Hi! We’re Paul & Em.
- We live in North Norfolk, UK in our partially renovated Edwardian house (who knew renovating was so tough!)
- We converted a ford transit into a campervan in 2018 (mainly for Scotland adventures!)
- We have two tiny dogs & two giant cats (clearly we like to do things differently!)
- Paul loves guitar, epic fantasy & sci-fi, strong coffee & chocolate.
- Em loves crafts, romance & crime, strong tea & cheese.

We’ve been running Whisporia together since 2018, born from our love of storytelling. Last November we moved into a studio, a relief space-wise but a big pressure overheads-wise! This year we’ve been realigning Whisporia with what we want it to be & planning next steps.

After a crazy 2024 (hunting for a shop, endless events, selling out of Advents multiple times), we started 2025 with some downtime & tested product ideas. We even viewed a few churches (one day we’ll get round to getting married!).

Instead of launches, we held a huge sale. You shopped like crazy & funded something very exciting…a bus! After last year’s landlord nightmares, we decided to take matters into our own hands & in March started converting a bus into a dreamy indie bookshop.

We then launched our Spring Cottage collection, prepped products & events, and paused to celebrate wedding!

May turned out to be a rollercoaster month for us as many of you will have seen we sadly experienced a miscarriage. We hit pause & the shop had to take a back seat as we took some time to recover & grieve.

In June, we walked over 60 miles for raising £495! Getting outside daily helped us grieve & talk. We know this journey will have good & bad days, but turning sadness into something positive has helped. Thank you for all your love, support & messages, they mean so much!

Which leads us to today! We are busy prepping lots of beautiful products for at the end of the month which kicks off our busy event season! Hopefully we get to see lots of you on the road! ✨

It's been a bit of a crazy week over here at Whisporia so just catching up on some of our wonderful book reviews!First up is the wonderful Heart Breaker by 🩷
This is a truly amazing YA Romance filled with funny, feisty, flirty moments that just makes you squeal and lick your feet.Javing read Desi Girl Speaking by Anika before I knew this would be a wonderfully written with desi characters that are just perfection with cultural references throughout
Our FMC and MMC are so perfect, firstly, charming, with their own hurdles and struggles and the sweetest moments together.
This is one to read, without a doubt, you'll fall head over heels with the characters, the story, all of it. 🌟
