I am a Warm friendly, cheerful lady with patients, old school morals, good sense of humor and a smile, I respect people's homes and privacy and treat individuals in a dignified manner.
In my career as a Carer/Support worker of 20+ years I have had the opportunity supporting many people with different health conditions who were classed as my friends.
My background started in Residential care for our lovely older generation, clients with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS, Stokes etc, carrying out duties of personal care, encouraging drinks and food, encouraging activities with the clients such as chair exercise’s, arts and crafts, quizzes, gardening, day trips to the seaside.
I moved onto one to one care in the community, building up a good rapport , trust and friendship with my clients, ensuring safety and clients wellbeing came first, following care plan’s, monitoring health issues, accompanying to hospital doctor's appointments, liaising with families, outside agencies, supporting personal care, taking observations, domestic chores and encouraging social life activities, I love animals and happy to walk doggies, changing cat litter trays and feeding the birds, enabling clients to lead an individual independent life in their own home for as long as possible..
I have also worked with a Rehab team with qualified nurses for individuals being admitted/discharged to/from hospital, trying to avoid hospital admittance and also encouraging clients to do things they used to do before hospital admissions.
I am a good companion, a good listener and am able to put loved ones at ease and of course will always make time for a cup of tea and chatter.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
Toni x
