A special moment at SJH as we took time to show some extra love and appreciation for our wonderful animal friends 🐾

To celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, we were delighted to welcome a very special visitor — our friendly furry dog companion! The home was filled with warm greetings, cuddles, and plenty of excitement as residents enjoyed spending time with our four-legged guest.

The visit sparked lovely conversations as everyone reminisced about their favourite pets and shared heartfelt stories and memories. A truly joyful day that brought smiles, comfort, and companionship to all 💛

Happy Pancake Day at SJH 🥞

“What an amazing, fun day we’ve had!” said our guests at SJH as everyone enjoyed flipping pancakes and tasting their favourite toppings.

The classic lemon and sugar was the clear winner, with chocolate spread coming a close second.

Chopsticks, lanterns and delicious treats — what a fantastic way to celebrate Chinese New Year! 🏮🥢

SJH celebrated Chinese New Year in style with a bonus of lots of fun on the way - Games with Chop sticks, taster sessions with Chinese tea – Chinese treats - yum!

We finished off the morning with all that wonderful activity then enjoyed a wonderful Chinese meal for lunch – Thank you to all the staff at SJH for making our day so special! 💙

Extra Celebrations for Valentine’s 💕

Love was truly in the air at SJH this Valentine’s week, as wishes for a smooth, jazz-inspired celebration floated around our home — and they certainly came true!

The wonderful musicians from Diana's Hot Desserts brought the magic to life with a delightful mix of jazz music, singing, and dancing. Laughter and music filled the rooms as everyone enjoyed spending such special moments together.

To complete the Valentine’s theme, staff dressed in red and hearts, adding to the vibrant and joyful atmosphere throughout the home. Our guests were treated to delicious nibbles and our very own Valentine’s mocktails — which went down an absolute treat!

It was a heart-warming week full of music, smiles, and togetherness — a celebration to remember. ❤️

Love was truly in the air at SJH this Valentine’s Day 💖

Our wonderful Wellbeing Team spread warmth and happiness throughout SJH, making special visits to each of our residents. Together, we shared heartfelt stories, reflected on cherished moments from life’s journey, and celebrated the love and friendships that fill our home every day.

Each resident also received a little Valentine’s surprise — a small token to remind them just how special they are.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at SJH for creating such a caring, joyful atmosphere and for helping make every day feel like Valentine’s Day. 💐✨

Trip to Theatre Royal Norwich for Nutcracker in Havana 💙

We had a truly amazing time at the Theatre Royal Norwich watching the wonderful show of Nutcracker in Havana. The performance was absolutely magical, with the Cuban heat of the dancers adding an exciting twist to this stunning production of The Nutcracker, Tchaikovsky’s classic brought to life in a fresh and vibrant way.

Full of excitement after the show, we returned to St John’s House and had the incredible pleasure of meeting the fabulous ballet dancers. We all agreed that we are the luckiest people around! A huge thank you to everyone for making the evening so special, especially for taking the time to have photos with us – you are all stars!✨

🎉 Happy Birthday, Val! 🎉

What a joyful week it’s been at SJH, celebrating three birthdays—but today, all eyes were on Val! She celebrated her special day in style with her SJH family and friends in our Sandringham lounge. 💛

The atmosphere was alive with music as Paul, our talented musician, performed our favourite hits. Everyone joined in singing, dancing, and sharing laughs together—it was a party full of energy and smiles! 🎶🕺💃

Val was touched by all the thoughtful cards, gifts, and, of course, the birthday cake 🍰. She shared how overwhelmed and thankful she felt for the love and kindness surrounding her in her home.

Happy Birthday, Lesley!

A wonderful time was had celebrating our birthday lady at SJH. The day was full of joy, starting with a lovely trip to our local community centre for a coffee morning, followed by party time back at SJH. Lesley was surrounded by family and friends and enjoyed lots of beautiful cards, thoughtful presents, and plenty of cake.

🎥 Cinema City Trip 🎥

A lovely time was had at Cinema City watching a good old classic I’m No Angel, starring the fabulous Mae West. The residents and staff from SJH loved every minute – there were plenty of laughs all round!

We really enjoyed spending time together afterwards, chatting about the film, and it was lovely to join the local community before and enjoy some refreshments too.

Thank you, Cinema City – we had a fantastic time and will definitely see you again next month! 😊

Maureen had a wonderful birthday celebration at SJH! 💕

She loved sharing her homemade birthday cake and was delighted with her special gift from all the staff. Family and friends came together to celebrate with a bottle (or two!) of bubbly 🥂 while Musical Memories filled the room and had everyone singing along. 🎶
