Exercise is proven to help with both physical and mental health, and a great way to get moving and out in the fresh air is via a Parkrun.

We are proudly affiliated with the Fitzmaurice Park parkrun, where everybody is welcome to run, walk or volunteer at these great social events. Runs take place every Saturday morning, starting at 9am.

Our very own Operations Manager, Cat, attended last Saturday, and had a brilliant time, alongside the other volunteers and 164 runners/walkers.

UTIs are common, but recognising the symptoms early can help prevent complications. Look out for burning during urination, frequent urges to p*e, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and tummy or back pain. If symptoms persist, see a pharmacist or book with your GP. A midwife will contact you to set up your first appointment (ideally by 10 weeks, but sooner is always better).

Flu season is fast approaching, and patients who are eligible are now able to book their appointments at Thorpewood.

You are eligible for a flu vaccination if:
💉 You are 65 years of age or over.
💉 You are between the ages of 18 and 64 and are clinically ‘at risk’.
💉 You are pregnant.

We will be sending invites out from today onwards, which will allow you to book yourself into one of our flu clinics via the link in the message. Patients can also call in to the surgery to book an appointment on 01603 701833.

Our first clinic will be Saturday 4th of October and will run each Saturday for 4 weeks.

We will also be providing flu vaccinations for children. Details for this will be available in due course.
