We’ve got so many wonderful moments to share with you this week that we thought we’d do a little roundup so you can see the fun we’ve had for yourself!

We had baby rabbit and baby goat animal visits with Evie’s Owls, who we just cannot recommend enough, we had the best time - animal therapy is so wonderful!
At the weekend our activities coordinator performed a selection of our favourite songs for us at our singalong as well as some lovely weekend one to one activities.

Into this week and yesterday we were joined by some little friends as we held our rhymes and more little visitors session from Friend in Deed and then in the afternoon we enjoyed piano music and hymns from Jo as we sang our hearts out ♥️

We feel so fortunate to be able to offer these activities to our residents and that our residents have such wonderful family members who support the events and activities we hold by visiting and being a part of the St Mary’s family with us.

All in all just another wholesome week here at St Mary’s 💕

🐣Prize time🐣

This week we got to meet our competition winner Mouli as he popped along to St Mary’s with his family to collect his prize!

Residents Margaret and June enjoyed chatting with the little artist and his family and Moulis exclamation of wow wow wow said it all when he saw the size of his chocolate hamper his fantastic talent had won him!

A wonderful time on our bus trip yesterday as we visited Bawdeswell Garden Centre!

The sun was shining and we really enjoyed looking at all the flowers as well treating ourselves to coffee and a scone at their cafe.

Whilst there we picked out some plants for our garden and opted for lobelia, violas and pansy. We’re looking forward to getting in the garden to get them planted.

🎉WINNER🎉

Today we spent the morning looking at all our entries from our Easter Colouring competition and WOW - there were some wonderful entries, we had such a lovely time looking at each one and discussing them!

Before we tell you who won - we’d like to say a huge congratulations and well done to everyone, the standard was high and not only that but thank you to all the adults who assisted the kids with entering whether that’s through school, child minders or even at home - making sure the kids were able to get there entries in on time!

We had approximately 50 entries so narrowing it down was tough - however a huge well done goes to our winner Mouli who is 7 and entered with the help of the staff and teachers at Catton Grove Primary School after a visit to us with school arranged by Friend in Deed.

We had the great pleasure of calling Moulis Grown ups today and giving Mouli the great news!

Collection of their prize has been arranged and we can’t wait to meet the budding artist!

A quick reminder that today is the final day to hand in your entry for our Easter Colouring Competition.

We will be announcing and contacting the winner on Tuesday after we’ve made sure our residents have had time to look at each picture and pick their favourite!

The residents of St Marys have come up with a great idea to keep the children busy this Easter Holidays - We would love for the children in our surrounding areas to pop along and collect an entry sheet for our Easter Egg colouring competition, then simply design and colour their best design and hand it back into reception here at St Marys by 5th April - an esteemed panel of judges (our wonderful residents ) will then peruse and make the tough decision of picking their absolute favourite to win our Bumper Easter Egg Hamper!

It's totally free of charge to take part, you simply need to collect the sheet, get creative and have it back at our home by the deadline of 5th April ready for judging.

Here is our Easter Cake Competition entry; A joint effort by residents and Activities team member Lauren who had a memorable time decorating.

Our theme was chocolate chocolate and more chocolate. 😄
We opted for a nice pink gingham ribbon to finish off the cake as we decided it made us feel spring like.

We’ve been lucky enough to have quite a few bigger events that we’ve shared with you here on Facebook over the last few weeks, but it’s not always parties and trips and big group sessions - there’s also quiet moments, 1 on 1 sessions of our personal interests, games, crafts, visits from friends and family, birthdays, garden socialising, fresh air walks, gardening and quizzes that we love to capture and is always worth sharing too as they’re all equally as special and important ♥️🥰

Last week we entered the Kingsley Easter Cake competition - it was all hands on deck especially with the designing and even though our plan didn’t actually come to life we took it on the chin and made something we decided looked absolutely delicious!

🥰 A wonderful day 🥰

We started the day with a bus trip kindly organised by Friend in Deed to Ormiston Victory Academy as special guests for a sneak preview of their show Alice in Wonderland - we all agreed the children were amazing, with so many lines and routines to learn, they did not miss a beat! And this afternoon Janet and Hilda enjoyed a quiet afternoon getting creative and decorated a Bird Box together.

We opted for bright colours to match our moods and then added some lovely flower designs for finishing touches, we can’t wait to seal it and hang it in the garden next week.

Tomorrow we’re excited for a visit from Mr dod Fitness to kick start our weekend ♥️

💐 Mothers Day 💐

A beautiful afternoon today celebrating all the mothers at St Mary’s as we held our Mothers Day family social.

Whilst we were entertained by the wonderful Amanda Forster, we enjoyed fizz and scones which were lovingly made by 2 of the mothers in the room our gorgeous Cathy and Jan (piccies of them hard at work included 😘)

Thanks to all who could make it ♥️

We’d like to take a moment to wish all the Mums, Grandmas and Nanny’s , Aunts and anyone else in that caregiving role a very Happy Mothers Day 💐 for tomorrow.
