Your spine is arguably one of the most precious and important structures of your entire body, and should be treated as such.
It protects the spinal cord, it is the highway of communication between your brain and every single function your body performs.
We all know an issue with the spinal spinal cord has the potential to cause major changes in the health of your body, so here are a few daily habits to help you take care of it at home.
Movement - When your spine stops moving, is when degeneration starts. This can cause arthritic changes that can irritate or even damage the nerves in your spine. So each day take your spine through 4 deliberate motions. Do this for your neck and your back.
- Bend all the way forward, towards the ground
- Bend all the way back, towards the sky
- Twisted the right
- Twist to the left
Try this 3-5 times morning and evening to keep your spine moving!
Hydrate - The human brain is made up of 73% water, our muscles are made up of 79% water, and our bones, 31%.
Water is an absolute essential to allow your body to function, and heal to its best ability. Don’t skip this one!
Walking - Your body is designed to move, regardless of the ability and distance you can currently cover. If you sit still for too long, it can have a dramatic impact on the health of your spine. Take time to walk daily, ideally 30 minutes.
