I was in the car yesterday getting my morning fix of TalkSPORT and was listening to presenter Jim White talking Hayley McQueen daughter of the ex-Manchester United, Leeds and Scotland centra half Gordon McQueen. Who passed away in June 2023 aged 70, having been diagnosed with dementia two years earlier.

The segment of the interview that really hit home was when she highlighted just how much heading of the ball her father did during his playing career, not only during matches but as part of his regular training regime. Often doing extra work heading footballs kicked at him from significant distance.

Our cause is dedicated to helping those affected by dementia and their families and we encourage you to reach out if you feel you need support. If we cannot provide direct assistance, we will do our best to signpost you to those that may be able to help.

Worth a listen.

Steve and Janet Cozens and Glenn Hoy were on their travels attending the weekly meeting of the Grimsby Town Foundation’s Memory Club. There was the normal mix of ex-pros and local players.

Much of the first session was discussing the current woes of their club, sentiments shared by the Norwich contingent!

We are once again delighted to be able to spread our support for groups of this type and have been invited back in the New Year.
