This morning we thought we do something different, we have started a breakfast club and each month we will have different items on the menu. Today were croissants, pastries, salami, cheeses and different pates. This went down a real treat and thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Residents and staff of Redlands were astounded when Friend in Deed informed us, that there were two young girls Tilly and Sienna, who set up the shoebox squad and they were going to be raising money to buy each resident a Christmas gift.
Today we welcomed their visit and each resident was given a person centred gift. Staff and resident’s felt quite emotional as our younger friends have showed such thoughtfulness, kindness and compassion. Thank you so much, you should be so proud of yourselves, as we most definitely are. ❤️

This afternoon, we had a look at some magazines, the Good Housekeeping guide, the sports columns and travel. This led to the most wonderful conversations, residents shared tips on cleaning, George informed us of the places he travelled in the Navy. This was a nice activity and the staff learnt a great deal of handy tips and life history of each individual.

This morning residents made bird feeders, to place in the garden. We have heard when devising a wish list that a resident used to like watching the birds in the garden and bird feeders would be a way for him to sit in the garden or see outside all the different birds, so today we made them for him. ❤️

Redlands House Residential Care Home is ideally situated close to local amenities in Hellesdon. There is a variety of shops just across the road at the Dixon shopping centre and a pub 200 yards away - all just 3 miles from the centre of Norwich. Redlands House has recently undergone expansion and refurbishment to provide a new wing in 2018 including rooms with ensuite shower facilities, and a new lounge and conservatory. The new rooms are light and spacious, with specially designed colour and furnishing schemes. Redlands House provide a homely and welcoming service, treating people as individuals and encouraging personalisation of rooms and maintenance of outside connections and activities. Alongside this, the home offers high-quality support to maintain independence for those needing residential and dementia care, in a home from home environment. The home provides a full programme of activities with dedicated staff to offer something for everyone and encourage a lively and stimulating environment, or quiet contemplation if that suits the resident better. Long and short term residents and respite care welcome and the home have recently installed a new lift and remodelled the sun lounge and garden spaces. Pets are accepted by arrangement.
