There’s something really special about stepping into a space where you’re not only learning, but also being held, inspired, and uplifted 🤍
I recently attended a Biomechanics for Birth course, beautifully hosted by and facilitated by the oh-so-gorgeous talented Shellie of … and honestly, it was just magic ✨
We explored how the body truly works in birth — not just theory, but practical, hands-on ways to support physiological birth. From understanding how the pelvis moves and creates space for baby, to using positioning, movement, and gentle techniques to encourage progress… it all just made so much sense.
What I loved most is that so much of it was building on things I already knew… but taking that knowledge to a much deeper level. It connected all the dots — the “why” behind what we do as birth workers — and gave me even more confidence in supporting the body in a way that feels intuitive and respectful.
We explored how intentional, supportive positioning and movement can create more ease and flow in labour — giving both mum and baby the space they need to work together. It’s about tuning into the body, responding to what it’s asking for, and trusting the process as it unfolds
But beyond the learning, what really stayed with me was the energy in the room. Being surrounded by such talented, passionate, like-minded women… sharing knowledge, stories, laughter, and that deep understanding of birth — it fills your cup in a way that’s hard to put into words 💫
I feel so grateful to keep growing, learning, and bringing this deeper knowledge into the way I support families. Because when we understand the body, trust it, and create the right environment… birth can unfold in the most powerful, instinctive way 🌿
If you’re pregnant or preparing for birth, know this — your body is designed for this. And there are so many beautiful ways to support it along the way 🤍
