What to expect?
π I use a mix of Sports Massage and Holistic Massage techniques, varying pressures, assisted stretches and often warm or cold to help ease muscular tension.
π Massage works by using the power of touch to stimulate or sedate the nervous system, which in return reduces pain signals and encourages the muscles to relax.
πββοΈ This is why I will never give deeper pressure than needed as this counteracts the good being done. Being in pain throughout a massage doesn't equal better results, in self defence your body tenses up even more after to protect itself.
π€ I have felt many backs over the years that have felt like steel, in which the clients say don't hold back my old therapist used to really go deep or hurt me. Yes they probably felt good after as their body was flooded with endorphins to conteract the pain, but then a few days later it's back tighter than ever.
π As humans we need to be kinder to ourselves, and except that a lovely relaxing massage can give us better results than that painful one. Rest assured though, I do work with a pressure you can feel, but it should never feel painful or like your body is tensing back in response.
