Norse Care

Norse Care Norse Care is Norfolk's largest care provider, giving care and support to over 1,500 people. We provide onsite care at housing with care schemes in Norfolk.

Our residential care homes provide a happy, comfortable environment for people. Residents have their own room, many of which have ensuite facilities or good access to bathrooms. All homes have communal living and dining rooms, activities lounges and well-kept gardens. Many of our homes are situated at the heart of the local community, enabling people, volunteers, school children and other community groups to visit regularly. A number of our homes specialise in the care of people living with dementia. We are committed to providing a compassionate, dedicated and high quality approach to exceptional, person-centred dementia care. We have a Dementia Strategy in place which provides key objectives to achieve these desired goals. As well as offering good living space, the schemes usually feature a restaurant, shop, communal lounges and gardens. Some schemes offer specialist support for people with dementia. Our care and support in housing with care schemes aims to:
- provide personalised care supporting physical, mental, emotional and social needs in order to maximise personal wellbeing
- keep people safe
- enable people to exercise choice over their life and to remain as independent as possible
- continually assess the quality of the service we provide
- embrace new ideas and research that will improve quality of life
- ensure our staff are fully trained to provide the very best care and support. All media enquiries should be forwarded to comms@norsegroup.co.uk.

Jo Howard, Training Specialist for Norse Care, is celebrating an incredible 23 years of dedicated service this week.

Jo began her journey in 2003 as a NVQ Trainer and Assessor. In 2013, she moved into a full time training role, where she has continued to make a lasting impact ever since. Today, Jo works alongside a supportive Learning and Development team, helping employees grow their skills and confidence throughout their careers.

Reflecting on her milestone, Jo shared:
"I’ve had an amazing 23 years supporting people to develop within their roles, from care support and domestic teams to team leaders, deputies and managers. Every day is a learning day. I’ve learned so much over the years. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me on my journey."

A wonderful achievement and a real testament to the difference long term commitment and passion can make to people and services alike.

🎉 Looking back at Millie Millington’s incredible 104 years 🎉

This weekend, Dell Rose Court resident Millie celebrates an amazing milestone — her 104th birthday! Born on 8 February 1922 in Scotland, Millie was one of ten children and a twin. As a teenager, she joined the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force, moved to England, met her late husband who served in the RAF, and together they raised three children. Today, she is also a proud great-grandmother.

Family has always been at the heart of Millie’s life. Famous for her homemade cakes, apple pies and three-course meals, she never let a birthday pass without baking something special — even for loved ones back in Scotland.

A natural performer, Millie has always loved to dance and sing, especially the foxtrot, quickstep and waltz. On her 100th birthday, she danced for hours, leaving her family “for dust”! She’s also well known for her raspberry jam and her tradition of seasonal fruit picking.

Since moving to Dell Rose Court in 2021 to be closer to family, Millie has become known for her mischievous humour, “naughty stories,” and impeccable style — often seen with her pearls on and ready for a party.

Her secret to a long life? Staying active and never letting age define her. As Millie says, “Inside, I feel twenty-five… you’ve got t’ laugh!”

Described by her family as a “truly glamorous granny,” Millie continues to bring joy, laughter and sparkle to everyone around her.

Happy 104th birthday, Millie! 🥂✨

At Benjamin Court, tenants celebrated Burns Night by enjoying a traditional Scottish meal.

We are proud that we recently achieved a 5 star food safety rating from NCC, giving tenants the confidence that every meal is prepared with care.

The Meadows hosts a regular puzzle group attended by our tenants, families, and employees. This activity has helped build camaraderie within the setting and promotes socialisation. A simple chat and a cup of tea can truly make a difference in someone’s life.

One of our tenants, Kenny, is particularly enthusiastic and enjoys completing puzzles every day. His next of kin, Karen, shared: “It keeps his mind active and alert, which is why we asked for him to be here, there is so much to do!”

Over time, it has been wonderful to see noticeable improvements in Kenny’s speech following his stroke, as well as the friendships he has developed with other tenants.

The Meadows is reaching out to individuals or homes who may wish to donate puzzles or arrange puzzle swaps. If you can help, please get in touch with our team via 01603 594060, we would love to hear from you!
