🌟Celebrating International Day of Disabled People!

Today, we proudly recognise the significance of this day and the vital role it plays in shaping the work we do. Our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer, Ellen, is making a real difference across Norfolk through ground breaking initiatives that promote inclusivity and empowerment.

πŸ… Key Projects we're supporting:
β—Ύ Special Olympics Norfolk - UK : Creating training and competitive opportunities for athletes of all abilities Special Olympics Great Britain
β—Ύ DRAGONS On the Move: Fostering active, inclusive communities Nansa Norfolk

πŸ’‘ Did you know? Recent research from the Activity Alliance reveals that disabled people’s participation in physical activity could contribute Β£6.2k per person annually to society.

As Tanni, Baroness Grey-Thompson, Honorary President of Activity Alliance reminds us:
"Disabled people must be included in conversations, listened to more, and their feedback acted upon. Policies and systems need to work for and include everybody, not just the privileged few."

We stand alongside Activity Alliance in advocating for a world where every disabled person feels a sense of belonging in sports and physical activity.

We are so sad to have to tell you that our wonderful Head of Boccia, Roy McGee passed away this morning.
Roy was one of a kind - the most wonderfully caring, kind and helpful man who brought his love of Boccia to Special Olympics Norfolk and the Eastern Region. Here he is with some of his team at the National Games in Sheffield in 2017.
We will all miss you Roy. πŸ’”
