Aches and pains during pregnancy are, sadly, normalised. Of course you are experiencing physical change, but pain and discomforts can be addressed and you shouldn’t be fobbed off and told to put up with it.

Movement, exercise and mobility can help considerably, but one area often forgotten and neglected is how the growth of your breasts could be contributing to the aches and pains being experienced.

Your breasts grow during pregnancy by approximately 500g each, so of course they will play a role in creating shifts and changes to posture, positioning and movement.

If you’re putting up with aches and pains, when was the last time you got your chest and bra measured and properly fitted?

⏺️ I didn’t move enough during pregnancy

⏺️ I was not encouraged to move during labour, I stayed on my back for hours. (NNUH midwives are fab but they can only support and encourage movement if staffing levels allow the time for interaction)

⏺️ I was full of fear and stress

⏺️ I was scared

⏺️ I had no knowledge of biomechanics and how simply going on my side ‘may’ have made a difference

⏺️ My husband (and birth partner) didn’t have a clue as neither of us had educated. We thought it would come easily

Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing and no there are not any guarantees when it comes to biomechanics, labour and birth. However we know motion is lotion and mobility and movement can help

If you are curious, single classes do not come up very often but are currently available for tomorrow and next Thursday, with the next three week block commencing 29 January

It is time this narrative and language was flipped on its head and buried.

No matter how you plan (or not plan) for your baby’s arrival, there is NO podium place. There are NO 🥇 🥈🥉 when it comes to birth.

And to think you are any less worthy because of your choices makes me really 😔 Pregnancy exercise, movement, birth prep, hypnobirthing, pre/postnatal support, is not only for those birthing v@ginally. It nourishes you during pregnancy, helps you move through birth thoughts and emotions, and helps you out the other side in your fourth trimester and beyond.

Please stop thinking otherwise.

I have just uploaded single class sessions for 15th and 22nd of January. This is a perfect opportunity to try a class without commitment.

You are strong, beautiful and amazing, however sometimes you need someone to help you see it ❤️
