Our family wish all of those we have cared for and are currently caring for a very peaceful Christmas.

A time for family, a time for celebration of course but we are very aware that this is also a time for reflection. We know as a family how difficult this time of year is for those who have lost loved ones, especially those facing the first Christmas without them here.

Sarah, myself and our family have you all in our thoughts. Peace and love to each one of you.

Today within our funeral home chapel we said our fond farewells to a dearly loved and deeply missed lady of 95 years.

Our Direct Cremation Plus service is an intimate and personal service officiated by our family. Smaller families who do not wish to sit in a large venue can find this setting much more cosy. We can play and provide recorded music and read words of tribute within an inclusive package.

It’s not very often I get invited by the family to drink a couple of sherrys at 11 o’clock in the morning but I was never going to pass up the opportunity as we toasted nearly a century of life.

Support doesn't stop with the families that we look after. Our family at Lewis Cook extend our steadfast care & support to our local communities too, helping wherever we can in whatever way we can.

Giving back and offering our help where it's needed is part of our fabric as a family business and something we will always be able to help and offer our support with.

Last night our family gave thanks and honoured all the lives of loved ones we have cared for over the past 18 months.

An emotional occasion for all involved as our children carried in the candles of loved ones into the chapel to ‘Now We Are Free’ by Hans Zimmer and we read loved ones names out.

As a family we know the importance of not just looking after those we care for through the funeral arrangements, but our aftercare is so important. We have each and every family in our minds and thoughts this festive season.

Huge thanks to GreenAcres Living Memorial Parks for hosting our 1st service, to Sarah and Kate for being so welcoming. To Reverend Patrick Jordan for leading us in prayer and sincere thanks to Fiona Hutchins for playing so wonderfully for us throughout. The Lark Ascending was special.

Our biggest thanks go to the families who picked up the phone to our family and entrusted your loved ones into the great care of our family.

Join me at Plumstead Road Library today at 2:30pm for an informative open and non morbid talk about all things funerals.

Let’s talk about this subject openly and prepare yourself and your family members for that difficult time by gaining a knowledge into what to do when we lose a loved one and the steps that we can all take to ensure a funeral is exactly right and in keeping with the wishes of each individual person.

The community are very welcome to come and join me for a cuppa and a chat.

This Saturday evening we hold our 1st annual memorial service for those families we have served over the past 18 months.

We have had lots of families reply to our invitation however if some have not received our invite but would like to attend, you’d be most welcome.

Loved ones names will be honoured during our service.

Our family will see you all on the evening.

Today is a real milestone for our family business and for myself personally.

Working within this profession for two decades and then starting our own family business in 2023, being accepted into the National Association of Funeral Directors is a real badge of honour for our family and testament to everything we have achieved and are achieving. We are personally dedicated funeral director’s and professionally invested.

The NAFD is the leading UK Association for funeral directing businesses and I am truly grateful that our funeral home has passed stringent assessments and all affiliation requirements to enroll into membership.

Personally I ensure that our family and those representing our business provide a second to none service to our families time after time and when our family are entrusted with the care of a loved one, families can rest assured that our care is provided with compassion and that all procedures and processes behind the scenes are handled with diligence and care, in line with the strict NAFD code of conduct.
