Today is a real milestone for our family business and for myself personally.

Working within this profession for two decades and then starting our own family business in 2023, being accepted into the National Association of Funeral Directors is a real badge of honour for our family and testament to everything we have achieved and are achieving. We are personally dedicated funeral director’s and professionally invested.

The NAFD is the leading UK Association for funeral directing businesses and I am truly grateful that our funeral home has passed stringent assessments and all affiliation requirements to enroll into membership.

Personally I ensure that our family and those representing our business provide a second to none service to our families time after time and when our family are entrusted with the care of a loved one, families can rest assured that our care is provided with compassion and that all procedures and processes behind the scenes are handled with diligence and care, in line with the strict NAFD code of conduct.

The death of a loved one can be a heart breaking and emotional occasion for those family members and friends left behind.

If a loved one is poorly or nearing the end of their life often families will choose to have a chat with us in the weeks prior to their death to get to know one another and to discuss the options.

This often brings comfort to families and the sense that the foundations are laid so when that time comes, it can be softened by a familiar voice on the telephone.

The importance of familiarity will always make the world of difference when navigating funeral arrangements.

A call to our family is a call which ensures full continuity throughout the entire process, this care and friendliness really does matter.

When opening our own family business, I knew I not only wanted to provide a personal service for each family but knew the importance of keeping funeral costs manageable and fair.

Funeral costs can often be unexpected and unplanned which is why I feel really passionately about looking after families the way we do.

I am pleased to say that I am now able to officiate a funeral service for the families we serve at a local crematorium or alternative venue at no extra charge. A minister of faith or alternative celebrant can of course be arranged if so wished at their prevailing rates

Home visits are included anywhere in Norfolk on every service that we offer, including on a Direct Cremation service. Near or far, a phone call to our family will be picked up by Lewis day or night (no call centres or strangers picking up the phone to your family).

Warmth, fair costs, and importantly a personal family to family service.

Footage taken as we arrived at Cromer Crematorium on Wednesday this week for the funeral of the late Tony Hinds.

We were due to start at 12noon but I took it upon myself to delay this by two minutes to allow the red arrows to go overhead which they did, unleashing a sky of colour which reduced the family to tears.

Not many can say they had the red arrows at their loved ones funeral, a memory they will have forever.

Thank you to the family for entrusting Tony into the care of our family and for giving their permission for us to share this video.
