Situss inversus mum's please help Christina
Good afternoon, a question for the situs inversus mothers: did you have any problems with breastfeeding? Then, more in general, has anyone experienced cephaleas with flashing lights, depression or feels he/she gets tired sooner than the rest of people? Thanks, cheers.

HAS ANYONE COME ACROSS THIS

Hi, my 15 month old daughter has Total Situs Inversus with Dextrocardia and was diagnosed at 5 days old when a chest X-ray showed her heart was on the right. She was then scanned and situs inversus totalis was confirmed. She was quite the celeb in hospital as none of the doctors had seen the condition diagnosed so young. She does not have any heart defects so we carried on life as normal. However I took her to hospital Friday as she had a raging temperature and very fast breathing. Ear and chest infections were confirmed however she was kept in as research is now showing children with situs inversus statistically have a higher risk of bacterial sepsis (thankfully I was clued up on symptoms due to recent media reports). We are now being referred for immunity testing as there is a chance her spleen is not working 100% which is why she maybe picks up infections easier and needs a bit more help to get rid of them. I just wondered if anyone else has gone through these blood tests or has any insight? The doctors seem to be learning on the job as there are still not a huge amount of people (especially young babies/children) diagnosed with the condition it would seem. Look forward to hearing some of your experiences xx

Still looking for people for research x

Hi everyone just received a message from a doctor who's currently studying dextrocardia. They're looking for people aged 12 and over to have an MRI scan at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London England so if anyone is interested in going for the scan you can get contact details from the advert or if it's not viable message us and we can pass the details along.
My son will be attending and anything we learn from it will be posted on here.

Can anyone help ??? 😊

Hi I was wondering if you could please post on tha page to ask if anyone has SItus Inversus with Levocardia please? I'm struggling to find anyone with the condition. My 3yr old son has it and I'd just love to speak to others with it too? Thanks

Levocardia is a medical condition where the heart is on the correct side of the body (the left), but the related structures are on the wrong side, either due to corrected transposition of the great vessels or to situs inversus.

Hi everyone, apologies for not being on here much I've been looking after my dad who sadly passed away a few weeks ago.
But I'm back and hoping to keep myself busy with the group and work.
We have a new member Mardie who's looking to talk to someone who has SIT and ASD Mardie has to have surgery so if anyone has the same conditions please advise x

Can anyone help Crissi out please or know of a support group in the US? Thanks Kate.

Can anyone help Crissi out please or know of a support group in the US? Thanks Kate.

This group seems mostly focused on awareness in the UK, does anyone know of anything being done in the US to promote awareness?

My daughter is 6 months w/total situs inversus with dextrocardia and she will be going for some genetic testing in a couple of days. She's failed 8 hearing tests and had tubes put in about a month ago, still waiting to do another test to rule out any hearing loss. She also always seems to be congested, since birth so I'm concerned about PCD. I found out about her condition when I was around 20 weeks pregnant and couldn't find much to learn more about it.

That's her getting her first echocardiogram @1 day old
