Spring is almost here… which means gardening season will soon begin! 🌱
Inevitably around this time of year, we start to see the same sorts of injuries - sore backs, stiff knees, and shoulders that aren’t too happy after a weekend in the garden.
It’s usually not one big movement that causes the problem, but lots of little things that build up over time:
🌱 Bending forward or kneeling for long periods
🌱 Twisting while lifting pots or bags of soil
🌱 Staying in the same position for too long
Here are a few simple tips that can make a big difference:
🌿 Bend at your hips and knees rather than your back
🌿 Try to switch positions regularly
🌿 Take short breaks to stand up and stretch
Your garden might love a full day of work… but your body usually prefers it in smaller doses.
Your plants will still be there tomorrow - your back will thank you for pacing yourself! 😅
If your back, knees, or shoulders start complaining after a day in the garden, it’s worth listening to.
And if you’re not sure what’s causing it, we’re always happy to help.
