If you’ve been into City recently, you can’t have missed our Artist Residency with .

As part of this, we asked Jake how The Lions’ Den supports his everyday wellbeing. This is what he shared:

“The Lions’ Den (River) quickly became a place of sanctuary for me. A place to get away from the noise of the city and re-energise my body after heavy training sessions. Over time, it became more than that. It grew into a place of community and connection outside of my usual channels. In the constantly shifting pace of modern life, it became a constant. A place that grounded me in the present.

When Lee () spoke to me about his plans for the City location, I knew it would be something special. A place not only to re-invigorate yourself and step away from the bustle of the city, but somewhere that brings a sense of calm the moment you walk through the door. Perched above the streets, it invites reflection and introspection, while gently building community.

As an artist working with human experience and sensory perception, it’s changed my practice for the better. My work feels more refined, more considered. I feel a deeper connection to how I paint now. Maybe because the space has given me the chance to be still, to sit with myself, and to process things that would otherwise be pushed aside.”

We’d love to hear how The Lions’ Den supports your everyday wellbeing, leave us a comment below. We want to share more of your stories.

We can’t promise sauna will fix it, but in our experience it does make things a lot better.

Come sauna with us at City or River.

When you come to The Lions’ Den, whether you’re here for a sauna, a class, a coffee or some lunch, you’re our guest.

That word matters to us. It means welcoming you into spaces made with care.

At The Lions’ Den, every member of the team is a host. Someone who notices without hovering, helps without interrupting, and understands when to step in and when to give space. Someone who treats this place like their own home and wants you to feel comfortable in it too.

Hosting, to us, is a privilege. You’ve chosen to spend your time here. To slow down, warm up, meet friends, reset or simply be. Being part of that moment matters, and we don’t take it lightly.

It’s why the details matter. The atmosphere. The energy. The way you’re greeted. The way you leave feeling.

The Lions’ Den is your home from home, and we’re proud to host you.

Come when it feels right. Come back when it becomes one of your favourite parts of your week.

As the lights soften and the day winds down, our café transforms into Norwich’s first alcohol free bar.

A place to gather, sip something special and stay a little longer, without the hangover.

Whether you’re taking part in Dry January, don’t drink, or simply fancy a night out that still feels good the next morning, you’ll find space here to socialise at your own pace.

Good (alcohol-free) drinks. Evenings worth staying out for. No pressure.

Open until 11 Mon-Sat, and 10 on Sundays.
