A bit deep for a Monday morning but here goes….
Having a moment of feeling sad that the summer holidays are almost over. I LOVE school holidays, yes I know it’s not great for many but for me I love the freedom and going out spending time just doing things we love! This summer is the first time in 11 years I’ve not worked at least some of the holidays. (Ok maybe a few hours here and there) I’m sat here thinking that I haven’t made the most of it, that’s there was more we wanted to do, the places we didn’t get visit and the friends we didn’t get to see!
Then I thought look at the memories! The things you have done, what you have acheived, the memories you have made. Photos are really important to me, those visual reminders. I use an app and get 45 free prints a month, actual physical photos. Now that’s something we don’t do much. I choose carefully those from the month I wnat in print. I keep them in boxes and frame some.
I remember as a child finding old photos from my grandparents, ancestors, memories, talking points. These momento will die out with our digital and technological age but they don’t have to.
As I get older I realise I no longer care for things, possessions, clutter, I don’t care for shopping trips and material wealth. Time is far better spent in my opinion on friends, freedom and family. Make those memories whilst you can and if you choose to have things, make it have meaning and importance in your life and for the next generation.
Here are some of my Summer holiday pics ….some that evoke the fondest mentors.
Lattitude, making bees, friends, Harlequin, wild women, ecstatic dance, fishing, boating, swimming in the sea, seafood, birthdays, running buddies, National trust, fire pits, camping, beach days, sunsets, theme parks, family.
