🐹CUDDLY CAVIES🐹

A great start to our week with Cuddly Cavies and a good dose of therapeutic cuteness 🥰🐹, followed by a good body warm up with Fitness with Joe ⚽️💪.

❤️Both Michelle and Joe then went round the home to reach more residents❤️

We played the alphabetical quiz with a twist in the afternoon, which was a hit, enjoyed by staff and family members alike🤔🔡

☀️ How is everyone’s Saturday going?

Ours started out with an amazing exercise class delivered by the lovely Jo from Exercise with Mojo where our residents worked up a sweat 💦

Then after a delicious lunch we gathered to watch ‘The Help’ in our Saturday film 🎥 club!

Not a bad start to the weekend! 😁

🌾HARVEST FESTIVAL SEASON🌾

As we approach autumn, we celebrate the bountifulness of nature and your generosity😊❤️🙏

We thank you Samwell for taking the time to harvest some beautiful squashes in our Brooklands garden🙏, and we look forward to turning them into some delicious soup maybe🥣😋

Thank you to all of you who already donated items towards our charity of the year Hallswood Animal Sanctuary 🐈🐕🐴 and to the local Norwich food bank🥫🥜🧴

🌻SUNFLOWER COMPETITION🌻

What a wonderful day we all had celebrating our sunflower competition with Debutots Norwich and North East Norfolk in the morning and a sunflower themed session👧🌻🧒.

Our winners received a selection of seasonal seeds and a bottle of Prosecco.

🌻Tallest: Brooklands’ residents: 344cm!!
🌻Smallest: Jane and Nick Moore
🌻Widest: Shirley’s family: 15 inches wide!!
🌻Cutest: Claudia’s daughter

Needless to say we celebrated achievement with Prosecco and Ian’s yummy sunflower cake 🍰 🌻😋

🧶🎃🎤SINGING WOOLLY PUMPKIN 🎤🎃🧶

⭐️What a wonderful Wednesday we all shared at Brooklands Care Home⭐️

Autumnal craft with some woolly pumpkin enjoyed by all including our joyful Jackie from Honey Lane Care Home😊

❤️Such a great activity to promote finger flexibility, eye / hand coordination and concentration. You can see the beautiful result of our labour on the reception desk as you visit your loved one.❤️Why not pick up some wool when you visit and add to our display?😊🧶

🎶🎤We let loose in the afternoon with the great Gerry and some Irish tunes with lots of sing-a-longs and dancing!! 💃
It was great to be joined by Judith from Bramley Court Care Home and to see carers joining in the fun too! 🎤🎶

⚙️WORD GAMES⚙️

🔤Some assiduous work this morning from our residents who definitely got their cogs working with crosswords and wordsearches, using the interactive tablet too!🔤

We love when families join in the fun too😊

🎯Lots of competitive spirit this afternoon playing darts in the lounge. Poor John slightly felt outnumbered by the ladies who were “marvellous” to his opinion as they scored so well!🎯

🎶Josh the “Jersey Boy” entertained us for the first time this afternoon🎶

✨“Wonderful, terrific” were some of the comments said by the residents✨

Josh made a big impact and his tunes and voice won our residents’ heart♥️

We couldn’t stop Anita dancing!💃
It was so heartwarming to see😊

🥫NATIONAL FOOD BANK🥫

On this special day and as part of Harvest Festival, we invite our Brooklands family to generously donate items of food for our local Norwich food bank 🥫🍫

We also appeal to your generosity to donate items for our charity of the year: Hallswood Animal Sanctuary🐈🐩🐹🐇

During the whole of September, you will find two wooden crates in the reception area to deposit your donations 🙏
