A public consultation has been launched asking people to share their views on where A&E services across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire should be located.

Services are currently split across two sites with children’s A&E at Ormskirk Hospital and the adult A&E in Southport. The local NHS partners (Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board and NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board) have been working together to find a solution that will provide everyone with safe, high quality urgent and emergency care services.

The consultation document outlines two specific options for bringing services together at one of these sites. Before making any decisions, we need the views of people across the local community. Please take this opportunity by following the links below, reading the consultation documents, completing the survey and/or attending one of the public events.

The consultation will run until 3 October 2025.

The following links can be used to access relevant documentation about the consultation, and the survey which you can complete to have your say:

We have been informed by our clinical system provider that following the IT outage on Friday, functionality has now been restored as of this afternoon.

We have been told to expect system performance to be degraded throughout Monday as services come back online, so we would ask that you remain patient with staff when contacting the surgery tomorrow as it’s highly likely that the system will be very slow.

For patients with pre-booked appointments, please attend these as planned.

We would like to thank you in advance for your co-operation, and we would also like to thank anyone who contacted us on Friday for your understanding whilst the system was down.

19/07/2024

We are experiencing a problem with our clinical system today.
We are unable to view any patient records, if you are contacting the surgery please be patient with our staff as this is completely out of our control.
Thank you for your understanding.
