Deputy Doggy Day! 🐾🐶

Deputy Manger Paul brought his beloved dog, Monty to our home last week and perfectly dressed for the occasion too with his cute little tie - how professional 🤩

Helping Paul with his duties, Monty also gave his best puppy eyes for Head Chef Adele for a few treats. Our ladies and gents loved meeting Monty, he was a big hit all round the home 🥰

Competitive Afternoon with ‘Rise’!

Last week, temperatures in the home rose with an afternoon of fun and games with the amazing Caz from Rise Southport, Ormskirk and Formby 🌟

WISH Activity Team Lead Brenda said, “We had two teams, with myself and Jenny our housekeeper as captains of the teams. Jenny’s team was The Mary Mints which our resident, Rose chose. Then my team was Alan’s Angels, which Alan chose . The afternoon was brilliant with Rose’s daughter Julie joining in, but she definately was cheating 😂. It was a fantastic afternoon of fun, exercise and of course a bit of singing. Each resident expressed how much they enjoyed it and even later in the week, they are still talking about it!” ❤️

🌟 Kitchen Assistant (Bank) Wanted 🌟 We are looking for a genuinely caring and passionate person to work alongside our Head Chef, Adele as our Kitchen Assistant covering staff holidays and sickness on a bank basis - great flexible role! Advice For The Youth ❤️

Last week we celebrated ‘International Youth Day’! Our wise residents had some great advice for the youth of today. We sat in the garden enjoying the sun discussing how different it is for the young ones to back in our day, it was a lovely fun afternoon together ⭐️

Our staff have been working so hard and have gone above and beyond in July, we couldn’t choose just one recipient for this month’s award! So, we are pleased to announce that our employees of the month for July are Tayo and Adele 🏆🏆

☀️ Super Summer Fayre ☀️

It was a great day on Saturday for our Summer Fayre! Here is what WISH Activity Team Lead Brenda said, “We had great support from families and staff once again. All staff got involved and helped out, we had Matt on the karaoke and doing the bar, keeping everyone entertained! The weather held out too for once. Jenny and Beryl sold out on the flower stall which was made by our residents. We raised a fantastic £625 so I would like to say a big thank you to all staff who helped on the stalls. Also to our families and staff for their fantastic donations, without them all, we couldn’t have raised such an amazing amount!” ❤️

2 Special Little Visitors 💖💖

Last week, we had the pitter patter of little feet throughout our home when our staff members, Lizzie and Geena brought in their lovely little girls, Elowyn and Aria 🥰

Aria sat with our residents, Norma and were colouring in together, side by side, it was so lovely to see! And Lizzie brought Elowyn upstairs to see our ladies and gents - the smiles on everyone’s faces was just fantastic 🤩

Making Bouquets Together 💐

Last week we had a lovely afternoon flower arranging to make bouquets for our Summer Fayre ☀️

WISH Activity Team Lead Brenda said, “Jenny Beryl and Bridie helped me get all the artificial flower bouquets put together ready for our summer fair… Well I say they helped me, but I couldn’t do them. The flowers, and there was loads of them, were donated from Bridies niece, Anne (thank you!). we have loads left so lots more activities to be had with them!” ❤️

From our Garden to our Table 🍅🪴

Our Gardening Club have been very busy these last few weeks and the results are in!

WISH Activity Team Lead Brenda said, “Rhydian has been keeping our residents busy in the garden and enjoying the fresh air. Just look at the fantastic tomatoes they have grown - they are delicious and Adele, our Chef, was made up with them as she been using them on the salads at lunch time. There have been so many, we even used them for our cheese n wine day!” ❤️

🌞 Summer Fayre This Saturday 2nd August! 🌞

Just a reminder of our annual Summer Fayre happening this Saturday 2-4pm. It will be a lovely afternoon with fun for the whole family - all are welcome. There will be plenty of stalls, from food and refreshments to our famous bottle stall too! All money raised on goes to our Residents Fund to allow for more enriching activities and fun trips out for all 💖
