World Art Day 🎨🖼️

Last week our ladies and gents celebrated World Art Day and so we had a Arty Party and it was brilliant! We have some budding artists amongst our residents who really enjoyed showing of their artistic skills 👩‍🎨🥰

Our WISH Activity Team held a quiz too, naming all the famous artists that we knew and we enjoyed a few chocolate biscuits. Some of our residents made flowers which Brian enjoyed making and he’d promised Home Manager Gel one, so he delivered it personally to her - how very sweet ❤️

Marvellous Day with Memories R Made Dementia Choir 💙💛💙

Today, our WISH Activity Team and staff took a few of our ladies and gents to the amazing Memories R Made Dementia Choir 🥰

WISH Activity Team member Brenda said, “Over the past couple of weeks we have been taking some of our residents to the MRM choir run by Caroline, Barbara and Beth. It’s brilliant! Our residents get to make new friends, they can have cuppa and a chat, play a game of bingo, and of course, lots of singing and then up dancing at the end! Each resident expressed how much they loved it and how they can’t wait to go back soon.” ❤️

What a brilliant community group, thank you for all you do 👏

✨ Happy 48th Wedding Anniversary Janet & Robert ✨

On the first of this month we had the honour of hosting our lovely Janet and her husband Robert for a meal to celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary ❤️

Robert joined Janet in the lounge downstairs for a lovely meal together prepared by our chef Adele. Janet enjoyed a nice glass of wine to accompany her beautiful salmon which is Janet’s favourite. Adele made beautiful cup cakes for them both to celebrate such a wonderful achievement of 48 years ❤️

💐 Easter Weekend 🍫

Here at Ormskirk this Easter weekend, we made lovely Easter cornflake cakes. They went down a storm and our lovely Norma delivered them to the rooms which made everyone’s day 🥰

Easter Sunday, our residents each received a chocolate goodie bag filled with Easter bunnies and lots more treats! Staff also brought some flowers in for our residents to brighten up there day 💐

Staff, Ben and Chloe, took some of our residents to the local Costa for a lovely treat which was just wonderful. Lots of smiles and lots of chocolate to enjoy ❤️

What a wonderful month we have had this March. Spring is a season that fills us with optimism and hope. It reminds us that life is cyclical, and after the darkness of winter comes the brightness of Spring - shown beautifully by this months’ cover star Ann, taken by our lovely Home Carer Alex.

Volunteer Day ❤️

On Thursday we had a fabulous bunch of volunteers join our WISH Activity Team for the day! The team from local company, Network Space, ditched their desks for a day of fun, laughter and enriching the lives of our ladies and gents… and what a lovely day we all had 🥰

Our extended WISH Activity Team had fun with ‘Rise ‘n Shine Club’ in the morning, tidying up our outside spaces, making Easter crafts and finally a quiz in the afternoon.

WISH Activity Team member Brenda said, “Our new friends certainly put a smile on our residents faces - they were made up seeing new faces, it made their days. We would like to say a big thank you to all our volunteers, who also said they had the best time with our residents. We hope it’s not long before we see them again as it was our pleasure to have them in our home!” 👏

Veranda Grand Opening 🌿✂️❤️

Last week, we held the grand opening of our recently renovated veranda upstairs - perfect timing with the wonderful weather we had! ☀️

It was also our lovely Maureen’s birthday on this day and so she was the one to cut the ribbon. Maureen was so made up as she used to be Ormskirk’s Mayoress! Maureen’s family where there to share this special moment there was Prosecco flowing, lots of dancing, singing and laughter whilst enjoying the beautiful sunshine .

Well done to Housekeeper Jenny and Handyman Ronnie for all their hard work on the veranda, it looks spectacular 🤩👏

🇮🇪 Happy St Patrick’s Day 🇮🇪

St Patrick’s Day on Tuesday was an absolute ball! Throughout the morning and afternoon, we listened to lots of Irish music and ate lovely cakes made by Jenjira in the kitchen. The prosecco was flowing and our lovely families joined in too - we all had a go at the Irish jig 🍀

Such good fun was had by all and that’s what it’s all about bringing a smile to our residents faces 🥰❤️

A Very Happy Mother’s Day 💝💐

We had a wonderful Sunday celebrating Mother’s Day for all our lovely ladies! Our staff made beautiful gift bags with lots of chocolate goodies in for our deserving ladies… the smiles on their faces say it all 🥰

Our amazing lady, Bridie, also presented our staff with lots of chocolates from her and her family for Mother’s Day too. This was so kind, it made all our staffs day, so a big thank you to Bridie and her family ❤️👏

Making Fortune Tellers 🔮

Who else remembers making fortune tellers out of paper when you were young? After our fortune cookies for Chinese New Year, we decided to tell other people’s futures with our own fortune tellers ✨

A lot of our residents and staff could recall making these when younger so it was a lovely activity session with lots of reminiscence and fun - just look at the joy our little paper fortune tellers brought 🥰📸

Celebrating Chinese New Year 🧧❤️

Our ladies, gents and staff have been very busy this week preparing for Chinese New Year! Our WISH Activity Team organised lantern making with our residents whilst our kitchen team were preparing a fantastic feast for the occasion 😋

Our fab Chef, Adele, made a delicious Chinese buffet with spring rolls, sweet n sour chicken balls, salt n pepper onion rings, salt n pepper hash browns, and soft noodles with duck in hoisin sauce, with chicken and sweetcorn soup to start! 😍

WISH Activity Team member Brenda said, “We have lots Chinese themed activities coming up to celebrate the year of the horse! We want to say a big thank you to Adele for the menu on Wednesday, it was amazing!” ❤️
