With hypnotherapy, the person experiences a sense of deep relaxation which helps them to focus on appropriate suggestions made by the therapist. These suggestions help people make positive changes within themselves. Long gone are the days when hypnosis was seen as waving watches and controlling people's minds! During a hypnotherapy session you are always in control and you are not made to do anyth

ing. It is generally accepted that all hypnotherapy is ultimately self-hypnotherapy. A hypnotherapist merely helps to facilitate your experience - hypnotherapy is not about being made to do things, in fact it is the opposite, it is about empowerment. If someone tells you they can hypnotise you into doing something, ask them to hypnotise you to make you rob a bank, and when they can't, ask them to stop making ridiculous claims!!! Hypnotherapy involves the induction of a trance-like condition, but when in it, the patient is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotherapistโ€™s voice. In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed. The therapist is able to suggest ideas, concepts and lifestyle adaptations to the patient, the seeds of which become firmly planted. Types of hypnotherapy

As a client you might not be aware of the different styles of hypnotherapy but I will aim to use the best methods to suit you as an individual and your particular case. As every person is different the best results will be obtained by utilizing the methods that each person will respond to. In "Traditional Hypnosis" I give direct suggestions to the unconscious mind. This type of hypnosis works well with those who accept what they are being told. In "Ericksonian Hypnosis", I will use metaphors to give suggestions and ideas to your unconscious mind. This can be very effective because it helps to eliminate the resistance to change that may come from the conscious mind. When I first meet you, we will discuss the issues you want to work on; I will then create a programme of treatment with you and explain what will happen next. People may choose to have hypnotherapy for a variety of reasons โ€“ they may want to learn to relax deeply; to change an unwanted habit; to conquer a fear such as public speaking or to enhance an aspect of their lives such as sports performance. When you meet me for the first time we will explore exactly what you want to achieve and how hypnotherapy may be able to help. Hypnotherapy works with the power of your unconscious mind and can often create positive benefits in a relatively short space of time. Hypnotherapy is acknowledged by the Royal Society of Medicine as an effective therapy for a whole variety of issues โ€“ and is not to be confused with such things as stage hypnosis. As an ethical hypnotherapist I will work with you to enhance your wellbeing and will certainly not do anything to make you feel foolish or uncomfortable. Everything that we discuss will be in the strictest confidence.

Introducingโ€ฆ PURE ACUPUNCTURE ๐ŸŽ‹

Over the last few weeks I have been trying to find a solution to combat the increase in prices weโ€™ve all been subjected to. Just about everything has gone or is going up, from utilities to raw materials, affecting every aspect of our living. And as I faced the inevitable decision of having to put my prices up, my heart sank at the thought of this potentially excluding some people from the chance of having the treatment they need. So, never one to be beaten by obstacles, I put my thinking cap on, and came up with a solution, which would allow me to provide a good acupuncture treatment, at a slightly cheaper price.

Pure Acupuncture ๐ŸŽ‹ is a system Iโ€™m going to start trialling on Tuesdays from 1st June 2022. It is a streamlined treatment, available to most people on a current treatment plan. The difference is mainly in the way your appointment is structured, rather than the treatment itself. You will still receive the same treatment and care and attention from me but, as I will be will be working with two treatment rooms, I will be in with you for the first 20 minutes only. After that, youโ€™ll be left to relax while the needles work their magic โœจ. I will then come back in to remove the needles and finish your treatment. And the good news is that I can now lower the treatment price to ยฃ40 ๐Ÿ’–

Sadly, I will still have to apply a price increase on regular treatments so, from 1st June 2022, I will be charging ยฃ46. But you now have the choice of paying full price and have me all to yourself (which would be necessary for massage, some cupping and moxibustion sessions) or decide to share the love and save yourselves a few pennies!

As these are unchartered territories, we may have to tweak things as we go along, so please bear with me. And if you like the idea, I may extend it to a second day too! A massive thank you to all of you out there for supporting me through the years and helping me grow, it is truly a pleasure for me to be able to give something back โค๏ธ

I must admit I have been fairly quiet on social media recently. This is because I have put the last lockdown to good use and decided to start training in a new area, as well as carrying on with my work as an acupuncturist.

If you know me you'll know how passionate I have always been about women's health, particularly around reproductive issues. I have been treating and supporting women in their fertility journeys with acupuncture for many years and, after having witnessed the emotional toll this quest for a baby puts women and their partners under, I have decided to expand my training on the matter by becoming a Fertility Freedom Formula specialist too.

The Fertility Freedom Formula program allows you to handle this emotional overwhelm in a structured way, by enabling you to take back control of your life and your fertility journey in a step by step approach.

Local businesses beware.

Good evening everyone! Just a heads up for all other small businesses local to ours...

This gentleman came into my shop today, asking to speak to the manager. When I got to him to speak to him he informed me that he had bought 4 sandwiches on Thursday and he wasnโ€™t happy with them. I said that I was very sorry but... we are actually closed on Thursdays at the moment. He then proceeded to say that it was in fact Wednesday that he bought these sandwiches... weโ€™re also currently closed on Wednesdays. He hesitated before โ€˜phoning a friendโ€™ to double check, leaving and not returning.

What Iโ€™m trying to say is that this guy is floating around the local area trying his best to indirectly steal cash from small businesses. He wanted a full refund, in cash, for the sandwiches which he never bought from us (clearly, because we were closed).

Itโ€™s human nature to believe what weโ€™re told, especially when someone makes a complaint - we feel guilty and embarrassed and want to try our best to keep customers satisfied, and he tried to use that against us.

Just keep an eye out and be vigilant.

Following government advise LAR Acupuncture is able to remain OPEN for acupuncture treatments. I am currently awaiting guidance on face to face appointments however until then I can still practice over zoom. Keep well everyone.

Following the latest government announcement of Lancashire being placed in tier 4, we would like to remind people that we are, once again, allowed to remain open for acupuncture treatments.

All wellbeing treatments are currently suspended until further notice.
